Back in the saddle. Yedlin starts. Down 1-0 early. Penalty in 29'. Ritchie to take and saved by Pickford.
And just like that, Everton goes down field and scores. Yedlin not involved. Only high spot about that.
I think Arsenal end up in 6th. They are in 5th, 4 points out of 3rd with a match in hand. While Chelsea are in 6th, 5 points out of 3rd, with 2 matches in hand. While Arsenal host Utd this weekend. Even with a bad week in Europe, they are capable of beating Utd.
Yedlin flubbed the shot that popped off the turf, was kept alive and eventually led to the winning goal. I only watched the best part of the match, the last 30 minutes, but Yedlin was involved, making runs, and had a few nice passes from his wingback position. And oh......Almiron. Dude was all over the place wrecking havoc. Gotta be proud of the two MLS alumni out there helping Newcastle to huge comeback victory.
Arsenal have by far the easiest fixture list left of the top 4 contenders though. If they finish getting knocked out of Europa, there's really not much excuse to do anything but run the table the rest of the way, tomorrow excepted. A draw or better tomorrow makes Arsenal the favorite to finish 3rd IMO.
Yes, he tried a side volley again. This time he at least made contact although not much but it all worked out.
I am halfway convinced he did more or less exactly what he intended. If you watch, he doesn’t swing through it really. So he was either really smart and lucky or even worse than terrible and lucky.
Maybe, but seems kind of risky to do on purpose as if just off a little bit, the “pass” is intercepted and Everton is off to the races with Newcastle in bad shape to do much about it.
I'm not really worried about him losing his place until they get a RB that's not a bum like Manquillo
