I thought much the same. Yedlin did some nice things in and around the PA. I don't know about winning the league because against non-Huddersfield teams, they'd only be allowed maybe 1 off the goal frame, not 4 or 5. Nor would they win when blowing 2 or more sitters.
This is a must when reading Newcastle forums: https://englandsnortheast.co.uk/geordie-dictionary-a-b/ Ex: "Aw went te’ Blaydon races." = I sang the Newcastle anthem in the stands.
Almiron looked really good and got a long standing O when subbed off...could be big if he keeps it up for the prospects of future MLS-EPL transfers - not sure how much of it had to do with huddersfield having 10 men 9surely part of it at least) - but it seemed almiron will be a good EPL player from this game for sure....good to see.
It was a shame not one of those squeaked in - was a good chance to pick up a little GD help, but NUFC are looking safer by the week, that is for sure.
He changes the whole dynamic of their attack. He is going to be a game changer for the Toon as the season winds down.
USA international @yedlinny is the star of the matchday programme for the visit of @BurnleyOfficial.There's an exclusive eight-page interview with the former @SoundersFC defender in tomorrow's issue of UNITED.Read more: https://t.co/FA3Dnp8Fyk #NUFC pic.twitter.com/t5nuFzDcjJ— Newcastle United FC (@NUFC) February 25, 2019
He def seems to be quite charismatic among a club that's lacking in it. I'd imagine that's a strong appeal for folks to like him; if not for his playing abilities.
Yedlinny and NUFC could do themselves a favor this week as they play Burnley, who's only got 2 points on them. CP play ManU and Lester/Brighton's kind of a wash. Better if Lester win, but if NUFC can grab three it will inch them up.
To be fair, I had no idea what doner kebab was until I moved abroad. I don't think the majority of Americans who have never lived abroad have any idea what it is. Even when there are "doner kebab" places in the US, it's usually mislabeled as shawarma or just put as a gyro, even though they're technically all different things.
To be fair, I had no clue as to what you are talking about or how it is related to soccer, let alone Yedlin. I've traveled a lot, know kebabs and shawarma, but didn't know a doner kebab from a blood donor (maybe that's the relation to soccer?). Courtesy of Wikipedia, I now know that shawarma is a food preparation method based on the doner kebab of Ottoman Turkey. It was originally made with lamb or mutton, but to quote Wikipedia, I suppose it is possible that some rebellious teenage chef could have sliced the meat into a round shape and invented the soccer ball.

Fabian Schar just scored the best goal a CB is going to score in the Prem all season. 1-0 to Newcastle. What a hit! https://streamja.com/GKOB
easiest assist Manquillo will ever have...a 5-yard lateral pass 30 yards out Manquillo definitely looking better on the ball...if Rafa decides that with Almiron and Longstaff (both fitting in seamlessly) NUFC can possess the ball, DY may find himself 2nd choice.
This has been Manquillo's best game, but doesn't seem enough to take Yedder's job. I think this was a chance to rest him when playing a weak rival at home.
Nope. As any true Scotsman will tell you, football was discovered after the battle of Bannockburn when two teams of Scotsmen were found kicking around the severed head of an Englishman. And to this day, Scottish football remains true to its origins
Didn't see the whole game, but from what I did see (35 min, 2nd half), Manquillo was most unimpressive.
