I'm sure you've heard this before, Andy, but you guys really should do something to your pictures to make sure nobody parrots them. On a more serious note, do you guys make money off YCJ?
We do sell photos to other magazines and newspapers for publication, but we have not reached a break-even point. We would like to not have to watermark our images, but past experience has shown that we must. We started off putting images online, then we started putting our names on the bottom, but that would just get cropped off. The only step beyond the watermarks is just not putting the shots online. The breaking point was around the 2003 ChampionsWorld Series when we first started getting quantities of high profile images of folks like Alessandro Nesta, Ruud Van Nistlerooj, etc... Our web photos started showing up on eBay on trading cards and posters and such. Even if we weren't trying to make a living doing this, we would've had to do something to cut down on the piracy out of respect for the other hard-working photogs at the games. Everytime one of our photos is used below value, some other photog fails to sell one of their shots. Watermarks suck. Trust me, I know. Q: What do you call a sports photographer without a wife or girlfriend? A: Homeless.
I take it she didn't look like the SS lady. Perhaps she was one of the young ladies on Footballers Wives, or Dream Team. Even better, she was Hollistertastic?
Could Garber look more uncomfortable? My guess is that he'll have the same look when the Crew win the Cup.
My only problem with that photo is the fact that the one guy has on a Metrostars jersey, and during their performance he had on a Crew jersey. What a deadbeat. What a cutie.
Atleast they wore Crew jerseys during the performance, they could have all worn FC Dallas(since they are from the area). And better then the Galaxy jersey worn the last time the all-star game was here.
All we need now is a video of the Stadium workers ushering only those in Crew jerseys down to ground level to smoke, while all the other smokers are left right where they were in the first place.
