I made the trip, here are the game photos: http://www.ibiblio.org/footy/2003/0413_chi_ne_ajm.php Enjoy! (photo by Andy Mead/YCJ) "I'm sorry sir, but your son is going to have to leave the field."
Nice pics, Andy. Funny how you can't see it on TV, but the west side of the stadium (background in team lineup shots) makes it look like a park league game. I was thinking that if the reduced 5k capacity was in place, almost all of the stands must have been on the side opposite the TV cameras. Tom
The 5,000 main permanent stand was enhanced only by 5 rows of temporary bleachers in the one end - aka Section 8, and Standing Room Only on the other two sides. I think there were something like seats for maybe 7,000.
Andy, Great job on the pictures. What did you use to touch up the photos? It really looks like the referee in yellow has an official badge on his shirt. Good job. (photoshop??)
The webshots - with extremely few exceptions (like maybe two shots last year) get no touch up whatsoever. No white balance correction, nothing. Not enough time. The ones we distribute through the wire services and publish in the magazine get the Photoshop treatment.
Four or five days of no sleep in a row will do that. A couple of times last season when I posted revs-related sets, there was some vetching and complaining that I didn't take the time to lighten certain shots, etc...
great shots, from the TV replays i thought that Beasley might have hit in his goal with his hand. your photos clearly show he didn't. really nice job, same think on the PK save too.
that picture doesn't even do the size difference justice... adin brown is enormous, i knew he was a big guy and all but being 10 feet from the man you realize just how big he really is...how someone gets the ball past him i will never know... craig capono is going to battle richie williams for tiny person of the year award in mls this year.
