Has anybody noticed that their shorts seem to be getting shorter and shorter? Not that I'm objecting... http://www.ibiblio.org/footy/2004/0327_kc_la_ajm/web_ajm_7570.jpg
So what's up with the white shorts with our blue jersey? Are we moving away from the mono-tone or is this just a pre-season thing?
We went two-tone a couple times last season. I think the league fined us once for doing it. I can only find photos of the blue-white, but I'm pretty sure we wore the white-blue combo, too. 10/4 vs Colorado
We did it once away (at LA I think?) and it broke our "non-win" streak last summer. So we did it again at home the next game against Colorado and we won again. The league then decided to fine us for doing so as somehow our blue tops were supposedly to hard to distinguish from colorado's away white's Yes I know the color of the opposing teams shorts, not shirts, has made me errantly pass to the opposition so many times...
It's Ok I wouldn't worry about your little fella, someday he too is gonna grow up to be big and strong.
Oh well, here's to hoping for a little variety. I think its nice to have a change now and then so we don't look the same for every match. 5 days and counting...
I cannot compete with YCJ in quality or quantity (I have lens envy...Andy's is much bigger than mine!), but here are a few more pictures from the [thread=103037]SAS Soccer Festival[/thread]
Might just be a "neutral" set-up. Personally, I favor the all-blue in any situation, manditory at home but any where else against non-blue or green is good too. That said, I also love the look of blue-white-blue. One in a while at home would be OK. (as would bringing back the original '96 once each year, but that's me ) It's a nice contrast against LA's home set up. Dallas at home, red shirt/black shorts, would be another perfect set-up for this uniform. CLB's and DC's all-black, etc. Anything to break up the pattern of all-white for every road team in MLS.
A year ago I asked Curt about using one of the old rainbow jerseys for USOC or international play and he said that there just weren't enough shells left to outfit the team, and adidas wasn't selling enough KC jerseys to justify making a special run of such a limited size.
*steps on fangirl box* squee! *steps off fangirl box* I'm ok now, just had to get that out of my system.
Hey great pics.... can never get enough of game pics. Was that an awesomely groomed pitch or was it field turf? Also... This has been bothering me for a few seasons now and I'm gonna have to start letting him hear about it.. it's like he doesn't even try anymore. I can't even remember the last time he even chose the right way much less got both feet off the ground in a dive.
The game was kind of a mini-reunion of the hardcore Carolina Courage media, including Jim Houghton, the Courage PR guy. The condition of the field didn't go unnoticed. None of us remember it ever looking quite that good.
