That is true, but he never played at that level before and it obviously showed.
Some players need time to adapt. Even players from Argentina *gasp*.

Only played like 5 mins but Girona took a super important win for their survival in La Liga. They are 6 points clear now so if Las Palmas loses 2 of their next 4 games and Girona grabs another point somewhere they will be home free.

Big win, they have a lot of breathing room now with 2 teams a point ahead and 2 teams below them before the drop and one of their games against Valladolid who is by far the worst team in the league and is already mentally on vacation. It would take a catastrophic collapse to go down from this position, especially considering their team quality is much higher than where they currently are and you'd expect them to return to the mean at some point.

Stuani saving Gironas asses once again. I doubt they will get any more points this season but hopefully it will be enough to survive anyway. Now lets hope the teams under them will do badly. Girona are awful at scoring goals and still has to rely on grandpa Stuani.

Yes but at least now it's confirmed that Girona has survived. Let's just hope that they bring in some good players for next season, above all a good striker.

I don't think they get rid of yaser because they'd lose a lot of cash and who knows, maybe he will improve next season. Sadly it seems like Michel bet on the wrong horse. Hope Yaser will make me eat my words next season.

Yaser assisting Stuani for 1-1 vs Sociedad.

His first one? Can't remember him making any assists this season.

He started off really well today very active and got that assist, then you felt like he finally could have a really good game, then he caused a penalty and started to look uncomfortable as heck. In his last ball contact of the game he has a super clumsy challenge, falls on his ass and injures himself. I just wish he could relax more. Don't think the injury was serious though.

I notice they mostly played him at LW today. To me that seems to be the best place for him to provide service. Both at Watford and at Girona now I have observed that his best passes and crosses into the danger area come from that position.

Now, I am not saying he should start for us for Diaz or anything like that but I do think he is an option in the second half at LW if whoever starts there looks out of place or subpar.

Michel probably noticed that he's too one-legged and struggles to make fast deliveries from the right flank. I don't think there's a coincidence that he got his first assist today, and shortly after he almost had another.

Girona wants to get rid of Yaser. Can't say I'm surprised.
    Interest from Turkey.

that’s a shame. Hopefully he has a good off season and finds a place where he can be more integral. Girona had plenty of problems and ran out of gas by November it seemed.

separately - the few times I saw Solis play on ESPN - he seemed to play well but didn’t add much value bc the games were usually out of reach by the time he would be subbed in

weren't both Solis and Asprilla wanted by Porto?

Hope he doesn't go to Turkey. Stay in Spain or go back to England.

It was his first full season playing at a top level. Big jump from second tier of England to la Liga.
Maybe going to Turkey will do him some good but we shall see. Maybe he needs to go to MLS like Cucho.

Problem is his pricetag. The teams where he could do really well cant afford him. Look at Daniel Mosquera at Verona. Costs like 1/10 of Yaser and had a pretty good season. He didn't turn out a superstar after the 2 goals he scored in the first round, but he never lost his place. Wasn't a regular starter but he played consistently as a sub and scored 5 goals, that's ok for a small team.

And by no means is Mosquera a better player than Yaser. He just has the perfect team and league and wage.
I hope he gets a loan. Don't really know if they will find a buyer, but even if he stays it must be heartbreaking after all the trouble signing the deal, after how much they paid for him, how he got the 10 shirt and how Michel really tried to help him. But I saw it coming, if you get your first assist after almost 30 games and only scored 2-3 times it's not good enough. He had a nasty injury though which screwed up his progress.

We'll see what happens. It won't be easy to find a buyer unless they will lower the price by a lot, would be bad business. Better to let him stay in that case and hope for the best.
