subbed off at 58 not surprisingly. Glad he managed to stay somewhat healthy though. In the first half he kept touching his leg all the time. Hope he plays wednesday in CL. With this form they have a good chance to get a good result. In spite of their poor season they are pretty ok in the league table, hope they'll keep improving.

Glad he played today. Hope this continues and he can stay fit. The form will follow.

also saw Solis on the bench. Hope he can get back into the mix. I like his style of play

Girona practically eliminated. They are really weak internationally. I hope they will qualify for next years CL it doesn't look too far away.

Yaser looked good but doesn't really create danger. The only goal he's gotten this far was total luck. He still has a long way to go but I'll think he will get there, the coach seems patient in this regard.

Injured again? Our new sinisterra. Injured 10 games straight, plays one game and then injured for another 10 games.

Yeah it's really boring, fewer players to follow. Seems like lucho is the only one we can really celebrate this season. If he doesn't win the EPL this season he never will.

I think we should have twice as many succesful players abroad, that way you can follow 10 while ten are injured. Sinisterra just played 30 mins per week or something and still got a really nasty injury. It seems unavoidable with our guys.

As someone said we should open a thread with injuries :D

    Yaser
    Mosquera
    Sinisterra
    Mina
    Duvan
    Cabal
    Can't even remember them all.

Yup, we need an injury watch thread but idk if I'll have the energy to maintain it.

    Maybe I'll start one tomorrow

Girona with a lot of possession but very few quality shots on target.
Yaser too one-legged, looses momentum everytime he has to turn around and use his left foot.

He shouldn't develop that habit. Has a great right foot too.

    Game over. 0-3.

It seemed like yaser was holding back. Like he played half-injured and didn't want to take any risks. He looked more lively in earlier games.

Worrisome. Madrid should be a statement game.

Girona scared of winning and scoring as usual. Creates chances and then their strikers turn into Córdoba vs Ecuador.

He played well. Played all over the field, left, right and center

    Had an excellent shot saved

to be fair Girona is up against one of the top teams in the world - i wouldn't be too harsh on them.

Just glad Asprilla got significant minutes against two powerhouse teams in the past week...

Is it more forgivable to miss an open goal against a top team?

Girona lost against a 10-man Mallorca. They really don't look dangerous at all in front of goal. Depressing to see.

Still when you watch him play he doesn't seem like a success at all. Mostly backpasses or he just freezes and doesn't know what to do. Or looks uncomfortable when he has to use his right foot.
Almost half a season gone and only one very lucky goal and hardly any assists.
If he doesn't score at least one "real goal" and some assists before this season is over I don't see much of a future at Girona tbh.

But other stats are good at least.

if Yasser was 25, I would tend to agree with you. But I want to give him the benefit of the doubt that he will maximize the next 5 months and pick things up even more next season.

players like Pirlo and Xavi didn’t hit a stride until they were 22/23 and they had a few years to develop before finding their identity. Asprilla will come around…. At least I am still optimistic about him at Girona
