Ok here we go again. Asprilla starting. Will things finally happen today? I really hope things will turn around today there has been a lot of disappointments last weeks. Hope he will have luck on his side today. He just needs a goal or assists to take the pressure off of him.

Just scored unintentionally. Crossed to a teammate who knew he was offside. GK couldn't react to it.

....and just as against Feyenoord they receive a cheap goal immediately after..

First they work their asses off to create danger and then immediately after scoring the other teams scores without any effort at all.

Actually, VAR concluded the teammate WASN'T offside and let it roll to surprise the keeper anyway, but was a terrific ball and should have been an assist even if it hadn't been a goal!

Liked Yaser more active in the game today, hope he can get an assist or two in second half.

Just had a James-like cross. Goalie saved the header off the line. Sucks they aren't getting the win, but Yaser definitely impressed today.

Nevermind! Girona gets a penalty 6 minutes into stoppage time.

Really good second half by Yaser. Easily his best since arriving at the club. 3 Important points for Girona and finally they had some luck on their side. Gazzaniga was fantastic saving 3 pens. Weird goalie, some games he looks awful, making childish mistakes and others he plays like today.
Hopefully Asprilla will get some confidence now and keep on growing.

Happy for Yasser - put in 90 minutes, made some nice passes and created some space on several opportunities. Scored a goal - it takes 1 to get the ball rolling

areas to improve - had some brain dead passes that led to a dispossession.

    looking forward to Thursday

If his teammate was offside, that should be interference with the play. Rules are great when they are on our side though. Either way, the team won and looks like Yaser played well. We'll take it.

The question is if we should keep calling him up for the qualifiers. We can qualify without him and he should be protected now that he's making a big effort trying to show his worth in Girona. He shouldn't have to make these long journeys every month and pick up stupid injuries like this. Conmebol qualifiers are brutal and they kick you down in a way much worse than in La Liga. Qualifying is life and death for these nations.
I'd say let him stay in spain until he is a solid starter in Girona with lots of goals and assists under his belt. Then you can start calling him up again for the NT. Injuries at this point could destroy his career and also the club hasn't got that many guys that can replace him.

like 90% of our players play in Europe and have to make the trip, absolutely we should keep calling him. He's the heir apparent of the most important position and role for our system and with James injury history there's a decent chance he will need to be starting for us and at worst he will be coming off the bench in most games. The fact he's not a clear cut starter and getting massive minutes in Girona is an even stronger argument that he should come, he got a fluke injury after playing a few minutes if he was being overloaded it would be different but he's not and he needs to be integrated with us.

Injuries are part of the game, of course we should protect guys if its needed, but Yaser is playing a very healthy amount of minutes and getting more minutes is a good thing for him as somewhat of an understudy, its not going to be too long he can train and learn from Quintero and James, that's valuable.

Not the end of the world if he can't play in November; we can compromise until he's good and ready by the start of the new year.
