You can't compare historical transfer fees to the current market in pure dollar terms, it's 2 completely different worlds. 25m is actually nothing for the best prospects which Yaser is among, he is a perfect player for good teams outside of the EPL because his ceiling is so high and he likely wants playing time now, lots of clubs like Dortmund and the Portuguese clubs buy and letter sell players like Yaser all the time. He had a deal with with a non top 3 French side and the agent blew it up, so there is clear evidence teams outside of England want him and I'm sure there are clubs in England who want him too, but smartly it seems like he's looking at teams where he can play right away and find a good next club that will give him a chance to then make a move to the top clubs in the world after. 25m is a fair valuation, I'm sure someone will pay it the issue isn't the transfer fee at this point its shitty greedy agents who want to take a big chunk for themselves which they can try but that leverage disappears as we move closer to the end of the transfer window.
🔴⚪️🇨🇴 Girona have agreed deal to sign Yaser Asprilla from Watford, here we go!Girona won the competition of several clubs to sign Colombian talent.Asprilla will travel with agent today.Medical tests will also take place today. All set as @Nilsola10 reported, it’s done. pic.twitter.com/Lwd9HjFit8— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 22, 2024 Here we go again. No Colombian source. This is getting exhausting.
With Asprilla and James apparently landing in La liga, we will have a few players there As a Madrid fan, it will be easier to keep up than watching like 8 leagues lol
When have we seen this picture before? If that guy F's up the deal again he'll probably receive threats. 🚨 A esta hora viaja Yaser Asprilla (20) junto a su representante, Jonathan Herrera, rumbo a Barcelona 🇨🇴👀 El extremo va a presentar exámenes médicos y firmar por 6 años con #Girona pic.twitter.com/u9sjmfenXu— Pipe Sierra (@PSierraR) August 22, 2024
Why in the hell is the agent even in these photos, no one gives a shit about you stop leaching off the players image to promote yourself.
Would have been happy with Porto but this makes me happy too. Between La Liga, Copa Del Rey and Champions League he and Solis should get some matches to start together and form a cohesion.
Grande Miguel 👍 siempre acompañando la noticia desde el inicio, felicidades https://t.co/akumcwBC8s— Colombia Scouts 🇨🇴 🏟⚽️ (@JvenesPromesas3) August 22, 2024 This is so cool. Hopefully he can handle the expectations.
It's a good move, although the agent is an asshole the teams he's been seriously linked to are all very good options for him. Girona/Rennes/Porto all give young players room to develop and shine, Girona having UCL is a nice bonus but their still a small club who rely on young talent and can't really hold back players for the next move if they are ready. Now we need Solis/Yaser link up to blossom and them both to become linch pins of the project and we're cooking.
Really happy our boys are in those teams. They seem to spend a lot. Hope they buy a striker this last week because the selling of the Ukrainian top scorer dovbyk is a big loss for them.
It's perfect for Solis and Yaser to play without a great #9. It will be good practice for what they will have to deal with on the Seleccion.
This fool is so lucky to have found a buyer after the stunt he pulled in France. I just hope he doesn't lure more of our young players with these private jet photos, and that Yaser surrounds himself with better people moving forward. Between Herrera and the Synerjoy people (who give me an even worse vibe) it seems like Yaser has been the hands of amateurs.
I was listening to Carlos Velez today and he mentioned that Girona was gutted of their top players after making a great run last year. Which sounds about right for a club without deep pockets. This is a not a perennial top 10 team so I think Yaser may need to do a lot more work than anticipated. 6 year contract is loooong.
I can't believe they sold that Ukrainian striker who became top scorer when they are playing CL. Seems like they only got 30M for him. Also from his perspective it seems weird to go to 6th place Roma. How much don't they need to spend now to cover for that loss?
