He was on a great trajectory and then the injuries completely derailed him, wasn't the same player and lost some of his quickness.
Yup, combo of Barca and Spain overwork these guys way too young and then they get terrible injuries. Fati, Gavi and Pedri and now they're doing the same thing with Cubarsi and Yamal.
Frankly, kind of what happened to James debuting at 14 and now unable to string more than a couple games at a time on that calf.
Watfords Sporting Director Gianluca Nani recently said Yaser could be the new Jude Bellingham. That's some high praise.
It's a good pitch, Jude went from the Birmingham direct to Dortmund and was an instant hit. Jude doing what he did probably adds 5m at least to the best young prospects from the championship. The better comparisons probably Olise and Eze who both went from the championship to basically premier league stars instantly, if Yaser gets close to those guys levels I'd be through the rough, they're great.
He wants to be Jude ... Go to BvB! If Yaser goes to Dortmund he'd become a world beater and they'd eventually sell him for a massive fee. It's what they do. I'd rather that then him going into a disaster at United.
feels like Bologna/Betis/Sociedad can probably be ruled out with that fee. Dortmund or Brighton would both be amazing, and he fits the mold for the type of player they like.
Asprilla is a far cleverer player than Fati who is more of a speed merchant and winger. Yaser's IQ and vision is far superior.
Please please please let this be true... https://www.antena2.com/futbol/yase...und?amp&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Yaser would absolutely cook for BvB. He'd be a perfect fit for what they do, he'd play in Champions and be sold down the line to walk thru front door of a major side if he performs.
Yeah, unfortunately all the pick up of the story in Germany links back to them...so we are circular right now...
Latest is Al-Ittihad have offered £25M for him. Footballing wise it's a poor move to a retirement league that's hardly competitive and the standard of the AFC CL compared to the UEFA CL is lower. He won't be as pressured or forced to adapt as much as by playing in the PL. Personally wise it's going to be very lucrative for him. For our useless owner it's another way of trying to reduce the debt he has accumulated. An extra £5M over any other offer. Yes please. Shame for the fans as he's one of the few players left to make watching the team worthwhile. Season ticket in the bin.
Lol, the drop from dream scenario at BvB to that... If there is any truth to the Dortmund interest, his agent needs to intervene. If they get the right sell on built into a BvB deal they would stand to make much more off selling him there.
Leaving this one here because one day we will want to remember how his agent ruined this move: 🚨 A cause d’une commission de 10% que voulaient les agents de Yáser #Asprilla 🇨🇴 (et étant illégal en France), le colombien ne rejoindra pas le Stade Rennais.Il se dirige vers Leicester.(@MohamedTERParis)[#MercatoSRFC] pic.twitter.com/lWEzD21IRK— La page Rennaise (@FandemonSRFC) August 3, 2024
I hope Yaser gets rid of that greedy P.O.S regardless if he finds him a new team. I guess the Leicester bid is lower than Rennes too, so in the end they gain nothing. I think it said something about it being illegal in france the 10% commission. Couldn't they have checked that out over the phone before meeting or that he would take it out of his end.
Football agency is such a scam they want commission for transfers. Why? They didn’t facilitate shit. These are professional clubs that just call each other to negotiate. The agents, like in American sports, should be paid solely on the players’ contracts and sponsorships. Paying them for transfers opens all kinds of worms
Honestly if an agent blew up a deal for his own personal outrageous commission demands they should be fired on the spot. Complete conflict of interest, I can see if you're one of the top top agents who can somehow generate insane profits for a player but this guys is a ********en clown.
Agent would still do well: 10% commission (LC) @ $23mill = $2.3 mill 5% commission (usual comm for French ligue1) @ $27mill = $ 1.35mil
That’s my point. Agents should not be paid on transfers as it’s a conflict of interest. They are not looking out for the players’ best interests. Hell, in some cases they stir shit up so that the player asks for a transfer just so that they could get paid. It’s wrong and I don’t understand why this is allowed. They play no role on the transfer other than the player’s wages and that’s what he should be paid on
I agree to a certain point. Like everything in life, there are good and bad people. The agent, in theory, should be working in the best interest of his client. All you really need is a good lawyer (which they prob have as well) to make sure the transaction is legal and well represented. Problem would be with no agent representation, the clubs would be happy to pay the least amount possible, including wages, bonuses, etc. I would imagine a very experienced agent knows the pitfalls and what to ask for and what to avoid. We've all heard the horror stories of players not being paid or left in some cheap motel to figure it out. We also know clubs that own the player and move the goal posts (ala Rios with Palmeiras asking an exhorbitant amount for the player). To be fair, we don't know what typical agents ask for regarding commissions and some of it is part of negotiation. Agent might have also been misled in believing it will all be sorted when Yaser signs but then they refuse to negotiate. Although there are huge red flags when said agent isn't aware of the laws in France not allowing for that hefty commission. Not saying this agent isn't a douche but I recall players like Mina having his uncle represent him and almost killed his deal when he was on his way to Europe. There are def scavengers and greedy agents benefitting on the backs of players who don't know better. Duran and Yaser are Colombia's top youngest prospects/talent so it will all work out. I'd like to see this agent take a less recognizable talent and sell him to a top Euro league for a decent transfer. That's where the real talented agents stand out.
