That article doesn't say anything about signing a yank. It does say something about they prefer to sign a dutch player on loan and they are negotiating with a columbian player. I don't know why people would shoot their wad over things like this.
Sounds like a situation tailor-made for Ian Feuer. Just a thought, but if Feyenoord's GK problems are temporary due to short-term injuries, then signing a GK on loan makes some sense. If Howard impressed, he might be just what they are looking for and he could be back for the MLS season.
