Almost certain Matias Wanchope for LAFC 07’s will be on Costa Rica considering his uncle is a legend for them as a player and has been their head coach

Would rather have him in the pool, but I doubt he is a consistent international contributor for either nation

Unless he starts to become very productive under Vanney, this could be another Jonathan Gonzales situation. A couple early caps and then nothing for 2 years.

I suspected Azcona would show out in this tourney. He may be one of the best American prospects in it. His upcoming game against us may act as an audition for a roster spot on the next u-20 WC. We could use someone with his flair.

In Olympic qualifying, Covid-19 testing has limited Haiti to 10 players (with a field player in goal & 2 subs on the bench?) against Honduras. They are already down 2-0 inside the 1st 20 minutes.

    Francois Dulysse starts for Haiti.

Juan Carlos Obregon on the bench for Honduras.

That seems likely, but I hesitate to be almost certain given that in the last 10 years we've had two USMNT members whose fathers played 75+ times for Liberia (one of whom, of course, was a Ballon d'Or winner and is president of the country) and another whose dad played 65 times for Canada.

They've been approving Covid tests for Haiti during the match, so they were able to sub in a GK (who then moved into a field role) and sub out another player in the 1st half.

Only difference is that unlike Liberia, Costa Rica has a World Cup history. But I hope we can get him. He’s the second biggest prospect of the LAFC 07’s

'00 Amet Korca plays in Croatia's second tier. Another player from the Dallas area, spent a year with Solar.

Wanchope would actually be the third generation in his line to play for Costa Rica; who knows, maybe Paulo's brothers have sons as well, haven't looked into it. There's no doubt the family is royalty there.
