He was, yes. I think he leans Mexico based on his social media activity and his father seems pro-Mexico, but we'll know for sure when the next US U17s start up. Hope I'm wrong.
Griffin (Finn) McDaniels is on the Philippines squad for the SEA Games: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_at_the_2019_Southeast_Asian_Games_–_Men's_team_squads He plays at California Baptist & his dad is Clint McDaniels, who is an assistant coach with the Philippines. https://cbulancers.com/sports/mens-soccer/roster/finn-mcdaniel/6674 The SEA Games are a U22 tournament on the men's side.
There seems to be some kind of hangup with Wan Kuzan's eligibility for Malaysia. https://www.nst.com.my/sports/football/2019/11/541574/stuart-confirms-fams-interest-kuzain Malaysia apparently does not allow dual citizenship. I doubt the U.S. would particularly care if he were to acquire their passport, of course. https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nat...-malaysians-are-not-allowed-dual-citizenship/

02-Pablo Santana Soares has been called up to Germany U18 (U18 is nothing but friendlies) to a mini-tourney in Israel where Germany will face Israel and Serbia. Squad is pretty much newbs.

Relevant for all duals from Europe, essentially a Nations League for U19. Leagues for new U19 format: 2020–22 round 1 The leagues for round 1 of the new UEFA Nations League-style UEFA European Under-19 Championship have been confirmed with the draw at 11:00 CET on 3 December in Nyon. A new format begins in autumn 2020, with four rounds of one-venue mini-tournaments, including promotion and relegation, leading to the 2022 finals in Slovakia, replacing the current one-season qualifying system. The UEFA European Under-19 Championship will launch a new structure next year, incorporating UEFA Nations League-style groups in a two-season cycle. What would have been the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons will instead be the 2020–22 and 2021–23 competitions, still ending with eight-team final tournaments (hosted by Slovakia in 2022 but with every nation now competing in at least two mini-tournaments. Players will begin in the competition while still in the U18 category so will be in the U19 category by the time of the final tournament (for 2020–22, players born after 1 January 2003). https://www.uefa.com/under19/news/0...--leagues-for-new-u19-format-2020-22-round-1/ https://www.uefa.com/under19/news/0...ions League format for U19 EURO: how it works U18 in Europe WERE all friendlies now they will be competitive too. Which means more games and chances to cap tie players or keep them in program longer too.
Another find from @ChuckMe92: '03 midfielder Philip Bogdanov is in the call for Russia U17 for a camp in Serbia. (Ninth name on the list.) He's playing up an age group with DC United's academy and is among the handful of US-born-and-bred youth players who represent European YNTs. https://t.co/kYjPE9XMPQ— ChuckMe92 Soccer (@ChuckMe92Soccer) December 2, 2019 PHILIP BOGDANOV #10 PLAYER PROFILE Year of Birth: 2003 Position: Midfielder Hometown: Vienna, VA Nationality: United States http://beth.ussoccerda.com/sam/teams/index.php?team=1647665&player=78987609
I think he was originally your find! Back in February: https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/yanks-on-foreign-ynts-1997-and-later.2030961/page-35#post-37501807 I have no idea how to read Russian. He informed me of the call-up. I typed "Philip Bogdanov DC United" into Google Translate to see what it reads in Russian, and it's the ninth line on that list (first midfielder alphabetically).
Bogdanov is a decent enough player. He plays in a strong age group at DC, which is why he’s rarely discussed, but I’m not totally surprised to read this. I’m sure he’ll be able to keep up in a Russian YNT camp.
he started today in a 3-2 win vs Israel (both goals conceded seem to be direct free kick goals by the same Israeli player) and looks to have picked up an assist for the opener too on I believe his German debut. Soares can play midfield but also LB, seems to be listed at LB for this game. His assist was actually from a thrown in too.
For whatever it's worth, the Virginia Cavaliers CB who assisted Daryl Dike's golazo is Norwegian-born-and-bred but US-eligible. 6-foot-4 '99 Andreas Ueland, who has represented Norway YNT. He's one of the more esoteric US-eligible dual-nats.— ChuckMe92 Soccer (@ChuckMe92Soccer) December 14, 2019 In keeping with standard US/Norway practice, this means he will commit to the US. US born/bred: Bjorn Johnsen & Espen Baardsen chose Norway Norway born/bred: Mix Diskerud chose US
The intro of this video is proof Ueland is US-eligible. He's a product of Bryne FK although we (understandably) missed out on having a Yanks Abroad thread for him.

'04 Crew midfielder Marco Valentic was at a Croatia U15 camp not long ago. DA page indicates US nationality. https://cdn2.sportngin.com/attachments/document/0136/2248/Croatia_Newsletter_October_2019.pdf Edit: I don't think this was an A-team Croatia YNT camp by any stretch. Rather a U15 ID camp for Croatia-eligible foreign-born players, like the Mexico U15 ID camp in California for US-born-and-raised Mexico-eligible players.
1998 Sidney Friede joins the list of dual nats with other YNTs who will likely end up with the US (how’s Theoson Jordan Siebatcheu doing?)... if they are good enough. Prov capped Ger-Am dual leaves BL club w/ immediate effect and goes to relegation-zone 2. BL side. This cycle is his last for GER youth eligibility & hasn’t received a u21 call up yet. https://t.co/dX5zdJrM37— Daniel (@DanielSmith1022) January 1, 2020
Julian Vazquez is part of the Mexican U-20 team the United States will play tomorrow the 16th and Saturday the 18th.

DA profile lists nationality as USA, so almost certainly born in the US. (If he were born in Ireland it would have said IRE nationality.) Most likely a parent or grandparent. Oakwood's Twitter account indicates that his brother '02 Ronan O'Brien is also in camp with Ireland YNT, presumably an older age group.
