We've talked about the players who join foreign NT/YNTs, but we haven't captured Americans who are coaching teams abroad on the women's side. It won't be easy, because many are not well publicized, but figured it made sense to start a thread here.

I haven't seen any Yanks who coached a foreign club, but perhaps we can find one or more.

Perhaps the best known and the one who is most in limbo right now:

    Randy Waldrum
    http://www.houstondynamo.com/post/2...-accepts-volunteer-coaching-position-trinidad

He started by coaching their U17 women and is currently (at least until someone forgets to call him again) the head coach of their full national team.

    ****************************************************************

    Shek Borkowski
Head coach of Haiti NT & YNT
He's called Polish-American by many sources, but I can't 100% confirm. He's been in the US since at least 2004.

    Hue Menzies
    Head coach of Jamaica's U20s

Can't confirm citizenship, but went to college in the US and has been here since about 1986.

    Joe Supe
Was head coach of Cayman U20s

I can't confirm their citizenship, but we should include Leo Cuellar, head coach of Mexico, and his son Chris Cuellar,

Chris coached for USC and has worked for an LA law firm, so he at least is able to stay in the US. Leo was a coach in So. Cal for a dozen years of so (and played in the original NASL).

I'm not sure if Chris is coaching right now, but he has handled the youth teams in the past.

Similar story with Ernest Nierras of the Philippines. He's been a men's coach, but took over the Philippine women's team as his US-born & raised daughter, Samantha, became involved in the sport. She plays for the Malditas. He left that post in 2013.

He's been responsible for a huge wave of North American dual citizens playing for the PNT.

    http://m.espn.go.com/soccer/story?storyId=1173528&wjb=

    One of his assistants is:

    Clint McDaniel
He's usually the President of Corinthians SC and lives in California.

First Yank I've found coaching a foreign club (but it is the rare team that plays in a US league):

    Andrea Rodebaugh
    Played for Mexico WNT
Former coach of Mexico's U20; current coach at Xolas de Tijuana (WPSL)

Now at 49, she has achieved something that, when her own ‘passion was born’ as a teenager, seemed impossible: earning a living in the women’s game. “My generation had to fight for the right to play, and that’s been achieved,” she said. “Now the challenge is to see [women’s football] as a realistic life choice. In Mexico there are 35 women with the head coach’s license and we don’t know where most of them are, because they aren’t many options [for them to work].”

At the end of her player career, Rodebaugh took her coaching qualifications and, after taking charge of Mexico’s U-20 squad, guided them to a place at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Chile 2008. Currently head coach of Xolas de Tijuana, since 2008 she has also held the role of FIFA Instructor, working diligently year in year out on projects across the CONCACAF and CONMEBOL regions.

Her option was with Xolas de Tijuana, who compete in the US’s Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL). Though obliged to hold training sessions at 5am, in order to fit in with her players’ studies and jobs, while even home matches involve a trip across the border to San Diego, Rodebaugh and her charges tackle these challenges with gusto – in their bid to keep opening doors for women’s football and “give girls role models that they can use for inspiration”.

    http://www.fifa.com/womens-football...xemplary-rodebaugh-opening-doors-2747653.html

    From this 1999 article:

Rodebaugh is perfect for her role on this hybrid team. She was born in Mexico, moved to California when she was 3 years old, played soccer at California-Berkeley, then moved back to Mexico City after college nine years ago. She coaches a university team there and runs a soccer school for girls.

Another Yank has been coaching in Sweden, but now heading back to the US:

    Denise Reddy

    http://forum.football.co.uk/about8902.html

According to her LinkedIn profile, she was head coach at Vittsjö GIK for the past season and then had these prior assignments:

    Head Coach
    B93/HIK/Skjold
    August 2012 – July 2014 (2 years)
    Østerbro Copenhagen

    Head Coach
    Linköping FC
    January 2012 – July 2012 (7 months)

    Assistant Coach
    Linköping FC
    January 2011 – January 2012

Her background is very Euro-heavy with 11 years playing in Sweden (mostly Malmo) and holds UEFA licenses.

    Her Swedish club profile:
    http://www.svenskalag.se/vittsjogik/nyheter/629696/denise-reddy

Denise Reddy comes from the USA but has lived in Sweden when she was influential players in the Malmö FF. Where she played 1995-2005, made 336 matches and 35 goals. The last 7 years, she was captain of the team.

Denise is a qualified coach who completes Thomas good. Denise is structured, fine details, dedicated coach who also passionate about developing players.

On the merit list as coach is the New Jersey Wildcats, Jersey Sky Blue, Chicago Red Stars, Linköping FC and most recently from the Danish league, BK -93 / HK Skjold.

    Waldrum out with T&T:

    http://www.socawarriors.net/womens-team/16531-waldrum-fired-as-t-t-women-coach.html?fb_ref=Default

Waldrum led the team during their ill-fated 2015 FIFA Women’s. World Cup qualifiers - which ended with a 1-0 loss at home to Ecuador on December 2 2014, as well as last month’s friendly international against the United States. “I want to take this time to personally thank all the people of Trinidad and Tobago for your unwavering support of me and (son, and assistant coach) Ben.

I guess Ben Waldrum has been serving as an assistant.

Lorne Donaldson, who coaches for Colorado Real Foxes, is the head coach for the Jamaican U17 squad, currently in CONCACAF qualifying. I can't find citizenship info, but he came to the US in 1980 and has been in the country ever since.

Patrice Impelido, Yank on the Philippine Women's NT, is helping coach the Philippine U14 squad:

Props to the coaches too (Marielle Benitez, Belay Fernando, Patrice Impelido and head coach Joyce Landagan) three of whom are recent members of the ‪#‎PWNT‬!
