Genk lose 3-2 to Brugge. Even after picking up a 42nd minute red card, Brugge managed to score 2 more goals to take all 3 points McKenzie did not play.

Looks like Weston McKennie just has a knee sprain.

Torre and Heracles lose 1-0 on an own goal.
    5 tackles
    2 fouled
    83% passing
    8/9 ground duels

I think to be called a knee sprain you need some ligament damage. Juventus said he doesn’t have ligament damage so the injury sounds like it’s not even a sprain. Anyway we’ll know more soon but hopefully he’s just day to day as opposed to being out weeks.

A large portion of the USMNT seems to be coming off the bench these days.
That includes both Pulisic and Adams today............joining Dest, Weah, Richards, McKenzie, Steffen, and others.
One player getting a start is Gioacchini in Ligue 1.

What a nondescript weekend for USMNTers.
Adams/Marsch and Leipzig losing badly to Leverkusen.
Pulisic on late as Chelsea try to get the winner against a reeling ManU.

Pulisic with a scrumptious 15 minute run out. Elite.

I for one am interested to see how this goes

We are getting a good contingent of misfits over in the SPL. Ian Harkes, CCV, Christian Ramierez, and now Chris Mueller. Im here for it. Let's see if we can drag a few more on over

I think a sprain without ligament damage is called a strain.

Sure was. That cross to Rudiger was served on a platter.

Konrad got the start in Marseille's 1-0 win over Troyes. He didn't get on the ball, much. 9/16 passing. He did not have any g's, a's, or kp's. But his defensive numbers looked much improved. And the coach gave him 68 minutes.

    3/4 dribbles
    2/2 tackles
    7 recoveries

Caveat that I didn't watch the match but trying to figure out how Pulisic was elite in his 15 minutes when the player ratings I saw had him at a 5, lowest of all the Chelsea players?????

    Watch it. He was great.

    Also...

    Substitutes
Christian Pulisic (78′ on for Hudson-Odoi): 6.5 – Some great crosses and runs. Sharp.

    Christian Pulisic (for Alonso, 77')
Played right wing-back for his 13 minutes of action. 6

One outrageous piece of control to rescue a wayward Ziyech pass but otherwise unable to impact the game. NR

Christian Pulisic - 6/10 - Set up Rudiger's chance at the end with a good cross.

these were the one's I could pull off Google 1st page of search. Not sure where the 5 is coming from.

Thought Busio looked a bit a leggy in Venice's 1-0 loss to Inter. He was still reasonably effective, but looked like he could use some rest.

I must admit it's impressive the lack of production by our offensive players.

Total goals/assists in Top 5 leagues:

    Sargent 0/0
    Weah 0/2
    Hoppe 0/1
    Gioacchini 0/1
    Pulisic 2/0
    Reyna 2/0
    Balogun 0/0
    Konrad 0/2
    Green 0/0

    Total: 4 goals, 6 assists.

Jonathan David alone has 10 goals. Raul Jimenez (who's been out most of the season with a concussion) has 3 goals, 2 assists.

English press player ratings are always going to overvalue good English lads and undervalue others.

Hence why we started an uncapped 18 year old MLSer in a road WCQer earlier this fall...................

Pefok: 11 goals/2 assists across all competitions.

The problem isn't so much these young guys on your list (other than Green, who is more of a central midfielder these days anyway). Its the dearth of 25-28 year old "in their prime" forwards. Jordan Morris would be in this categoy if it weren't for his injury. Pefok is 25.

I watched Sargent this weekend. That kid is the epitome of the forward that does "everything right except scoring goals." I kinda really liked him out on the wing where Norwich had him. I won't be surprised if Berhalter calls him up in the January window.

Morris started against RSL but won't be able to get any serious match practice until the MLS season starts in February.

He picked a terrible time to get hurt. I was bullish on him in the USMNT before he got injured. Now I can hardly imagine him displacing any of our wings. The way Weah and Aaronson have come on in the interim is impressive, and I assume Gregg will still consider Pulisic and Reyna wings come WC 2022.

If Pulisic and/or Weah move to a forward spot, or if Reyna moves to the kind AM spot he favors and plays for Dortmund, that could create a competition between Morris, KDLF and Arriola for that last winger spot. And if Jordan gets his full speed and skill set back, I could see him winning that spot. Then again, there are also a bunch of young guns coming up behind too. So who knows?

Is there a plan to get the Euro players in a camp for June and July? Or is rest the better prescription?

On the other hand.......................we don't have a lot of depth on the wings (where I see him for the USMNT). Pulisic and Weah aren't exactly beacons of health, either. Reyna has been out for a while, but doesn't have a history of being injury prone. Paul Arriola has 10 caps in 2020/1. That's an indicator of the situation.

There is at least a path for Morris to be in the mix if he regains his form and starts excelling in the 2022 MLS season.

As you say, de la Fuente is the guy who could snatch that spot away. Gioacchini and Hoppe, too. Berhalter has tried both of those guys on the wing as well.

You read a crappy, lazy review? Most reviews are good to great. To have him lowest of all Chelsea players is pathetic - he didn't make a relevant poor play and contributed to two good chances in short minutes.
