I'm still mad about Jamaica's FK goal in the 2015 Gold Cup... not because the call was wrong (Guzan absolutely stepped out of his box) or because it "cost us the match" (it didn't, we beat ourselves that match) but because calls like that (GK hand-balls, foul throws, GKs moving off their line on PKs, etc) tend to be forgiven until the 1/1000 times they get called. I guess my stance is that we should pick a lane and either enforce those appropriately or amend the rules to forgive those infractions.
Now the commentators are talking about Tillman's foul throw... it's pretty egregious, really surprised there wasn't a longer VAR check on that one.
Welcome to the combined Champions League matchday thread ... Was that an imperceptible limp that I perceived, as Tillman walked off for halftime?
Tillman with a second assist, to go with his goal. This one was my kind of assist. Now Pepi has the best view of a Girona own goal. Finished PSV 4-0 Girona. Tillman played the full match; Pepi came on late, at 85'.
Dunno. Feels like an oversight to not make it reviewable, but also I can understand how VAR's hands might've been tied by the letter of the law.
I don't think that lineup is going to strike just a ton of fear in the hearts of RM. There was some discussion on the Yunus page (based on some lineup posted on an Italian paper) that CP would go in the #10 slot and YM would be on the right. I don't think so. Maybe in the second half if they fall behind they could put Chuk on and move CP from RW to #10?
I really like the is Milan lineup (I think it’s their best and most balanced given the roster). Musah already making his presence known. And even Leao seems to be up for it (including defense) today.
Musah and Pulisic combine nicely to beat the Madrid press then Emerson gives it back immediately. RB is a huge issue for Milan.
