I don't agree with that. Musah had earned a spot in 2022, and he played pretty well at the event itself. The man still is one of our most capped active players. He's 23 years old and has 47 caps. More than say..........Dest, Richards, Pepi, Reyna, etc. Sometimes players stall and don't advance. It happens to Argentina and Spain too. He's really young and will hopefully get back on track. One suspects its too late for WC26, though. We'll have a new coach after this World Cup, and the players will all have clean slates.
Who ever the next coach is is irrelevant to Musah making or not making a US roster. If he doesn't play at his club he isn't going to get a chance.
Even on the bench or even getting a few minutes is pretty immaterial, and occurs for a variety of reasons that don't mean the player is an impending impact player. The big gap is regular minutes of any kind versus anything before that. There's miles between say, Konrad de la Fuente at Barcelona and 500 minutes of rotational ball.
Leeds up with a nice 3-0 gap on Forest currently, Brendan Aaronson started. If it holds it bodes well for Leeds safety hopes. Theyd be even with both Palace and Tottenham on points at 29 but lower than both on GD, and a comfy 9 + GD from safety. I know their fanbase is oblivious but Leeds are so lucky to have Farke in charge, hes a great coach. Its like when West Ham complained about Moyes...........incredibly dense stuff. Some fanbases straight up dont got it between the ears and disguise stupidity with passion.
Brendan subbed off 79th to loud applause. Happy for him but damage has been done, still want him out of that dump. Hopefully he can find a nice transfer in summer. Leeds should be fine, they are visibly a level above forest in all facets. It feels like a race between Forest and West Ham for that last spot, and I just feel like Dyche can steer a team better to safety. West Ham's stunning refusal to fortify their backline is going to send them down IMO, but maybe they catch a hot streak. Nuno is a good coach. But yeah, realistically, 18th and 17th place are between Forest and West Ham from my observations. Advantage Forest
This is a big win for Leeds over Forest. Final was 3-1. Aaronson went about 75 minutes or so. They're not playing like they're going to collapse in the way those below them need them to. I'd actually be more worried about Richards & Palace at this point than Leeds. As YA fans, are we rooting for Forest to go down? The curse of Turner, Horvath, and Gio?
Yes on palace, on form they should be much more worried than Leeds. Time to hire 99 year old Woy again to right the ship
Also today in England, Charlie Kelman started for Charlton against QPR. Game ended 0-0, They're in 17th. Not out of relegation danger, but playing well enough to probably be OK.
Brenden was really good today, as he has been for about 2 months. He got beat up though, and a couple of the challenges from Forest were probably on the dirty side. Reminds me of some Pulisic games with Chelsea, who I think still has the record for most fouls drawn in a Champions League game. Kind of exciting we have all this talent fighting for a spot in the 11 right now and a classic 6 pointer for Leeds.
Future US backline - physical studs, all 6'2" and taller.... -------N Banks ------------- C Richards --------------- A Freeman You saw it here first.
Future? Jedi, Banks, Richards, and Freeman--all 6'0" or taller---could be the starting backline in June.
Paredes starts for Wolfsburg. Albert makes the bench for Dortmund. It appears Paredes's most recent absence was due to illness, rather than injury.
I'm watching Agyemang for Derby right now against Ipswich. 1-1 at minute 70. Typical game from Patrick. Physically a bully. Very difficult for Ipswich to deal with. But technical ability? Meh. Essentially every occasion he's dribbling at a defender, he loses the ball. Several opportunities for key passes that have been missed. But physically in the box? He can't be dealt with. Also..............crazy, but true. Norwich is going to win again without Sargent.
Derby and Agyemang lost 2-1at home to Ipswich. Bizarrely, its true, Norwich beat Blackburn 2-0. No Sargent. Safety is looking really good. They can safely sell Sargent for sure. No Wiley for Watford. I didn't think that injury was so bad. Watford beaten 1-0 by Southampton on a goal from former MLSer Cyle Larin.
I was going to watch and have a subscription to ESPN but now they've added another layer and I'd have to pay another monthly addition. It eventually becomes not worth it. I tried YouTube TV and they aren't carrying it. I guess there's no way to replicate what cable tv used to have where you paid one fee and had access to everything. So glad all the dummies got what they wanted. We don't want to pay for things we don't watch - now we get to pay a lot more for the things we do watch.
Paredes went 65' at the attacking left midfield spot. I think he looked lively and helped create a few chances for Wolfsburg. He's still a little slight and tends to get knocked off the ball. He also got a haircut, so he's harder to spot.
Poor day for Haji and Coventry. He had lots of chances, but didn't deliver. Coventry drew 0-0 at home with struggling Oxford. They're really in a swoon.
