Pulisic has had nagging hip flexor issues. I wouldn't be surprised to see him miss the friendlies to rest up.
Banks(rcb in 343) got the start in a 1-1 draw against Koln. 61/68 passing 2 blocks 5 clearances 4/7 duels 2/2 fouls/fouled 2 errors leading to a shot against FM(6.9)4
They had been managing his minutes and he had a number of minutes in four or five straight matches and he played all 90 in at least the last two or three. His last outing was sub par in his production and he really looked tired in the last post match. I was surprised that he played in the last match he played in and it would not have surprised me if he had been totally left off the squad for today's match. I would guess that the reason he did not come on sometime after the 60 min mark is that Como was already showing signs of hacking to get the goal back and nobody wanted to expose him to that in a match that was already deteriorating. Milan's coach is not one to over risk a star when the match is effectively won and Pulisic will be badly needed in the run for the title. It would not surprise me if he did not start the next match but comes in after about 50-60 and has a good outing. But he will, barring injury, be playing a LOT of matches down the stretch. And he will be very effective. It looks like Milan has found their center forward and that will help him by giving him a target for crosses and passes that he can count on. At least that is what I hope. BTW: In the few camera shots I saw of him on the bench he looked OK but he did look cold even in the warm jackets they have for the team. He even had a laugh or two after Milan took the lead. I am glad he did not play today as he looked like he needed a real rest when coming off after the last match he played.
Speaking of Pulisic specifically and elite soccer player generally, with regard to soft tissue injuries, I wonder how big clubs monitor that and attempt to prevent it. My sense is the industry still has a very long way to go before it can anticipate injuries well enough to matter.
I hope he is at the March camp even if he doesn't play or doesn't play much. I wouldn't mind Pepi being there also just to watch, observe and learn. Anyone else injured before that would fit too. It's basically go time and none of their minds are injured (I hope).
I think that applies to medicine in general. The only way you can anticipate a soft tissue injury is through a soft tissue injury. Maybe AI will help.
Sargent update Josh Sargent is training w/ Norwich U21s and won’t play this weekend🔴 Sargent ONLY wants Toronto🟢 Norwich say “not for sale”… but talks continue with TFC🇺🇸 Sargent just welcomed third child. Family wants to go back to North Americaw/ @PaulTenorio https://t.co/cRiQQwBOX2— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) January 16, 2026
Norwich doesn't want to sell because they are fighting relegation but sending Sargent to play with the U21s won't help them at all. Just sell him and go buy someone else that might be willing to play on 3rd Division if in case Norwich does get relegated.
Probably still haggling behind the scenes with Toronto. To me this is a sign that this deal is about to get done. He's training with the U21s to stay fit, which is fine.
Flo starting for ice cold Monaco against Lorient, 0-0 65th. They are just careening down the table surely. edit: as I post, it gets worse. Down 0-1 66th
Musah with the start for Atalanta. He has been beating opponents off the dribble! Best performance from him that I have seen so far. Still at half time. EDIT: RWB in a 3-4-2-1 EDIT2: Musah off at 56 not sure why. Looks like Atalanta changed formation to a 2 striker setup.
Aidan Morris got a 7.3 (#2) on Sofascore in Middlesbrough's late win at West Brom. Accurate passes 85/95 (89%) Passes in opposition half (acc.) 58/67 (87%) Passes in own half (acc.) 27/28 (96%) Long balls (accurate) 4/5 (80%) Tackles (won) 3 (2) Interceptions 0 Recoveries 6 Ground duels (won) 6 (6) Daryl Dike came in for West Brom in added time after Boro got their winning goal.
They'd have to find someone before they let him go. There are two weeks to go in the transfer window, not a good time to start looking, as anyone available will either have a high transfer fee or won't be good enough for their current employer.
Toronto has supposedly been talking to Norwich about this since December. If they haven't been doing leg work on finding a replacement, that's on them. Assuming Sargent didn't just spring this on them with that text and told them in early January that he would like to move on, I don't see anything wrong with what he's done. Sometimes you have to make things ugly like this, and he's done more than enough for the club at this point. They have an opportunity to make a big profit off him and they had the entire month to find a replacement. Meanwhile, as the coach said, they have a player who can fill in for now.
Big numbers for 56 minutes of work from Musah(RWB in 343) in Atl's 1-1 draw at Leaning Towers. Musah, McKennie, Dest, Weah, and Scally are playing rwb/rb in top leagues. 25/30 passing 1 key pass 3/3 dribbles 2/3 long balls 0 dispossessions 4 recoveries 6/7 ground duels 1/2 fouls/fouled SofaScore(7.4)4th
Here's some interesting news. Damion Downs starting this morning for Hamburg in the Bundesliga. That game is against Scally and Gladbach. I looked at the HOffenheim lineup with a thought about Cole Campbell, but he's not in the gameday squad. James Sands starting for St. Pauli against Dortmund.
He may have stolen his teammates goal lol, but I guess when you're in a promotion battle you always make sure https://packaged-media.redd.it/m889...00&s=73c045f35f2ddac966e6cc86e5bb6098284b57e5
Also...................I spy Kevin Paredes on the bench for Wolfsburg this morning. Third game in a row. Let's hope he gets more game time today!
