I watched the entire match and thought Trusty played very well much as he did against Feyenrood and Roma. The highlights are there to gives folks on this thread who did not see the match examples of his plays and you don't have to be an expert to see stellar 1v1 defending especially in open space.
Highlights from the Derby County game that Agyemang scored a brace in. First goal was really nice (good feint to create space, followed by a laser to the far post). Second goal opportunistic--right place, right time. He exhibited a good controlling touch followed by a snap shot to get the ball off his foot before the defender could get there. He also intercepted the ball to turn over play and made a nice short pass to start the sequence.
He might be the One Guy most impacted if the roster is 26 instead of 23. His physical abilities are a nightmare for almost any opponent we might have. But Haji Wright is having a good season too and has proven it more at the international level. If Pat goes on to have a good season at Derby, the choice between the two of them will be excruciating.
Hilarious that you think there were examples of "stellar" 1v1 defending by him in those highlights. Talk about low standards. I see examples of him doing just enough against VERY poor/slow opposition (alo, "very good" against Roma...what match were you watching???).
26 is pretty much the standard at this point, isn't it? At this point 30 seems likelier than 23. I think Big Pat makes a 30 man roster but (assuming everyone is healthy) probably not 26.
It was always the case from when they bought him that he seemed well suited to the Championship in particular with his skillset.
The good news for Derby after last season's debacle (in which they finished 1 point above relegation) is that they're really comfortably mid-table. 30 points after 21 games is more than fine. They're on pace for double their points total of last season. And ya know, only 4 points out of a playoff place. Not likely this season with the quality of the teams ahead of them, but also not out of the realm of possibility. Hopefully Patrick really helps them push forward. Damion Downs at Southampton is the one not doing a heck of a lot. That transfer is still a mystery to me. And of course, poor Daryl Dike isn't doing anything. He might be done. Two surgically repaired Achilles tendons is a hell of a thing to recover from.
After suffering another (minor) injury in November, Dike has gotten off the bench for a token minute in each of the last two games.
You know, it’s kind of funny, but the most valuable manager in the world isn’t at Man City or Real Madrid. The MVM is whoever is best able to get clubs from the Championship to the Prem. Followed closely by escape artists. It’s not quite the same for players, but a striker who scores a ton in the Championship and is key to getting clubs promoted is more valuable than a striker who can get his team from 14th to Europe/not the Champions League.
Looks like two USMNT YA matches on tap today. Fulham is starting Jedi in a mid week match in his 2nd start after a long injury absence. Beleaguered Nancy is saying FU to naysayers and is starting a Celtic back 3 with only Trusty as a true CB flanked by 2FBs. Are you not entertained! The Celtic match is on Paramount+ for anyone who wants to watch Trusty in action. Johnny went 66 today for AM, did not watch but may catch a replay if anything interesting occurred.
Jedi with an assist for Fulham to equalize at Newcastle in the League Cup. Long crossfield ball found him free on the left side of the penalty area and he passed it right onto Lukic's head in front of goal.

Adams out 2-3 months. Tessmann. Johnny. Adams. We can't keep our d-mids fit. https://prosoccerwire.usatoday.com/...-bournemouth-star-out-2-3-months/87832844007/
That gives Adams time to get back and get healthy. Since he was almost always going to be injured maybe it's best it's now and hopefully he gets back and in shape in time for the WC instead of getting injured later and missing.
well, look at it the other way- how long is he capable of staying fit? it may have been better to be "back" like a week prior to the cup starting and ramping up to contributing to match 4 and any beyond we may have. if hes back @2 months prior it just feels inevitable he picks up his cup ending knock around the second group stage match.
