I watched Gio and thought he was quite poor. No high pressure defense, and rarely touched the ball. He gets a deserved (IMHO) 5-6 from Kicker (6 is the worst).

Overall BMG’s press was much less effective than Wolfsburg’s.

One step up and two steps back. I’ve quit pretending he will be a different player. He just doesn’t have the motor to be a starter against the best. He could be very valuable against teams that are overmatched, though. He has great vision.

Down in Serie B Venezia and Busio are hard charging up the table, up to third place and are on a good hot streak. Would love a yo-yo back up.

Musah again got minutes today coming on at 66. There may be life there.

Interestingly two of our Yank Abroad clubs are putting some distance between themselves at the top of the Championship. Haji's Coventry and Morris' Boro. Boro is 7 points clear of 3rd now.

We're starting to get to the part of the season for which we can say "the table doesn't lie."

Unfortunately the bottom two clubs also have Yanks Abroad. Horvath's Wednesday is going down. Sargent's Norwich, are shockingly in 23rd. Are they going to sell Josh in the middle of this relegation battle??????

3-1 St. Mirren. Disastrous start for Nancy. The Roma match is one thing, they're a much better side than Celtic, but losing to Hearts and St. Mirren...yikes. As for Trusty today, another meh performance from him.

unfortunately, it is better to have players that are most effective when we are overmatched….

at least in my humble opinion

Gio was second slowest field player (those who playedd more than 5 minutes). He had a top speed of 27.2 km/h just ahead of 32 yr old Stöger at 27.1 km/h. Gladbach needs to get some guys healthy so they can get back to their pressing and quicker play that started the turnaround when Polanski took over.

Highlights of the Celtic v St Mirren match. Leaving aside if Nancy-ball works with this Celtic roster with their anemic attacking players I thought that Trusty was again very good and the highlights shows his 1v1 defending ability especially in space.

Pulisic had a goal earlier today but it was ruled out to due a push by a teammate...tough break, as it didn't seem to be as egregious on first watch. Tough too because Milan ended up drawing.

Against a striker who's spent the last four seasons struggling in England's League One. I watched the match and like I said earlier is was a fairly meh/ordinary performance from Auston.

Wow, St Mirren is full of players that at best peaked at League One.

As for the strikers Nlundulu failed at Bolton, while Ayunga has spent most of his career in the National League and below.

Most of the other players spent a lot of their career in League One or Two, Baccus for instance joining Mansfield in 2024/25 because he wanted a chance to play at a higher level, lasting one season there before being released and returning to St Mirren.

SPL is garbage but so is EFL League Two and I'll pay $35 to watch it in freezing rain.

Just given he’s playing much more and there’s a larger sample size would be interesting to see how the data on stuff like sprinting speed compares to last year at Dortmund.

Here is a more extended highlight package. What would cause someone to give Trusty bad reviews for his play in that match. I wonder exactly what he did wrong?

Nancy seems to be gaining confidence in Trusty, playing him at CB in the 3CB setup, moving Scales to LCB.

Tyler Adams off after 3 minutes with a knee injury. Looks bad initially. Walks off under own power with heavy limp. Looked like they were testing stability of the knee while he was down.

    :(

Hopefully Adams is fine or only out a short time.

People do need to prepare themselves someone important to the USMNT will probably get injured between now and June and be ruled out for the WC

Damn. If he’s out, our midfield looks a whole lot different. Some combo of Tessman, McKennie, Roldan or Berhalter. And maybe Cardoso or Musah have a shot.

I'll turn it around and ask what from the limited highlights posted last night would lead someone who didn't watch the match to conclude that Trusty played "very well". I actually watched the match and said it was an ordinary/meh performance. That's somewhere between bad and "very well" (and against very, very poor opposition).
