Which completely makes sense for those of us who've had kids. A thoroughly amazing experience, but also a totally consuming, and sleep deprived one as well.

No matter what the circumstance, it’s an overwhelming task that is better endured by parents who are young…you recover better.

............................when a person has kids, their life goals change. Their ambitions change. Josh Sargent appeared to choose stability for his young family over his career. That happens for many of us. We can understand that. You can tell that family is really important to him.

I don't really buy that. I think it works a lot better in your thirties. I was too old when I had my kiddo, but it's just the way my life played out and I wouldn't change it any other way of course in my own life.

When your young, the building of your career and relationships should take precedence, maturation etc. 20something is simply too young in the modern culture, in my view anyway, in America at least.

I waited until in my 30s as well, as was common for people from my generation who were taught to wait to have kids, then I found out how much better a family is than a career.

Your career is ultimately meaningless and most people will forget about you the minute you aren’t of use to them. Companies will continue to suck the life out of most who come through the doors and drop you as soon as they think they can find someone cheaper. A person who gives their life to a company/institution instead of their own family has been fooled into making a fundamental mistake about carrying out their own life.

With hindsight 20/20, it ultimately matters little whether or not you can afford the lifestyle you want to provide. It’s going to be difficult regardless. What matters is that you spend meaningful time with your family exploring life and modeling how to live. You have much more energy for that in your 20’s.

The pressure at Norwich is reaching a boil, and the fans are starting to turn on Sargent during his long goalless drought. Manning still has his back, but Manning may be gone if they lose to Leicester today. They have a bunch of players out injured.
    • On Josh Sargent's goal drought: "Sarge will score goals, there's no doubt about that. His involvement has still been big, he set up the goal on Wednesday night," said Manning.
Things are getting ugly. Fans waited outside the stadium after their last home game to hurl abuse at players and their families.
Norwich City Football Club say fans' abuse will not be tolerated

Financial losses just released for 24/25.
Norwich City announce £20.7m loss amid on-pitch struggles - BBC Sport

[Just as more confirmation of how hard the Championship is, the other club below Norwich in the standings is Sheffield United. Another recent Premier League club. Also 9 points after 14 games and a GD of -15. Southampton is sinking, and they're 19th. Fired their manager. Premier League last year.]

It's not just about the performance on the field, although that's a big part of it. The new owner (Milwaukee Brewers owner Mark Attanasio) and his team have made a series of missteps that have alienated supporters.

I'm sure there will be a HTC Sevens "What on Earth is Happening at Norwich City?" YouTube video in the very near future.

sarge is closer to league one than the bund at this point.

inch perfect cross on that goal- the defender couldnt get up to it and pat didnt even have to beast out, just a simple nod down into the back of the net. picture perfect.

I think he was a bit unlucky. Defender hit it, it was spinning at pace, he got his hands to it but couldn't hang on. I don't think he could have done much else.

Tillman continuing his recovery from his leg injury suffered on USMNT duty came on for the 2nd half and played well in a match that Leverkusen was already winning 5-0 against bottom table Heidenheim.

Unfortunately all 3 of his competitors at AM played very well scoring and assisting. He will have a tough fight on his hand to get back to a lock starter status.

That is life in a top tier league

Scally looking good at RWB for BMG in the first half. Hoping for a Gio appearance in the 2nd half!

Lund having an unfortunate match at LWB for Koln.

Sargent is experiencing more or less the longest goalless streak of his entire career right now. This is now 11 straight games/starts without a goal.

If you go by league appearances, he never went more than 10 appearances without a goal in the Bundesliga, and obviously he's been much more prolific in the Championship, but he did go 18 league appearances without a goal for Norwich in his single season in the Premier League; so that still has this dry spell beat. But during that run, he only went 11 straight Premier League starts without a goal, so if you go by league starts, he has now tied his career worst.

I watched the first half of Gladbach vs Koln. In the few times they directly dueled, Scally got the best of Lund on both sides of the ball. In general, Scally offered a bit more in the attack, though Lund's teammates could've done a better job finding him. Lund was unfortunate on the penalty: it could be argued he'd been pushed.

Lund looks better suited to fullback/LCB than to wingback. Scally looked solid at right wingback, though I'd prefer Weah or Dest there.

Now he'll have a new manager.

Norwich City sack Liam Manning: Canaries dismiss boss after seven defeats in eight games | Football News | Sky Sports

Norwich have lost all eight of their home matches this season and they are without a win since their league trip to Blackburn at the end of August.

"We have tried absolutely everything possible to work through this incredibly challenging period but, unfortunately, given the recent run of results and performances, we have been left with no choice other than to make a change at this stage," said sporting director Ben Knapper.

I don't think we mentioned the injury time yank-off in Serie A yesterday.

Pulisic came on for AC Milan, and Ben Cremaschi came on for Parma.

Bad result for AC Milan. They were up 2-0 early, and let the game slip to a 2-2 draw.

[Even with that result, they went up to 1st place in Serie A. Pending today's games, of course.]
