Hasn't Poch played the same formation with a double pivot in every match? His preferred football at Tottenham, PSG and Chelsea was 4-2-3-1 or 3-4-2-1.

He is the only player completely raised in the Brazilian system and he's still young. Tillman took some time to mesh and he's German developed like most of the squad. Jedi needed time. Heck, Chris Richards needed time and now look at him. So these type of issues are common. There are some outliers like Musah and Reyna who immediately played better for the USMNT than they really have been able to for club. Those guys are exceptions and not the rule.
I think there’s more to it. Not sure what it is, but that’s what my instincts say. Hope I’m wrong. Let’s see how he (and Tillman) do this year and we’ll know.
U.S. forward Daryl Dike suffers another injury setback - ESPN I mean its only a month injury supposedly but man..........this guys luck......
Dest scored, Tillman at the game.
Trusty is their best CB in UCL, which is really what matters for us. Don't know why we'd care who helps Celtic boss a team in the SPL. That doesn't simulate their prospective role in the WC.
Not a surprise. CCV/Scales has been BR's preferred CB pairing since early March or so of last season.
Ze zijn hier als jongens binnengekomen en als een man weggegaan."— Rik Elfrink (@RikElfrink) August 3, 2025 Peter Bosz on the presence of Tillman and Bakayoko: "It says a lot that these players still come to visit their friends at PSV. They came here as boys and left as men."
He was man of the match in their 4-0 win over Newcastle. From the Daily Record match report v St Mirren: "It was harsh on Auston Trusty being among the subs after impressing in pre-season, but Scales has rarely let the side down."
🚨 FT: Porto 1-0 AtletiThoughts? pic.twitter.com/PXdRqTsqrI— Atletico Universe (@atletiuniverse) August 3, 2025 Good reviews from Atletico fans on Johnny’s friendly performance today
The best part of the match, without a doubt, is Johnny Cardoso. The American took control of the midfield in the second half, doing everything that Atleti should expect from a pivot. He brings the ball out by positioning himself between the center-backs, escapes pressure well, plays the ball out, and pushes forward.
that’s the problem at Celtic, few chances to have defenders exposed if you’re on the bench waiting for a chance.
