Okay centerback OWNyewuED just watched banks replay, it’s not even a bold prediction, that kids starting for us 2026 with Richards . That size , that speed…… he’s starting just spare yourselves the debate he’s starting 11 positioning, awareness, for that age……. That’s perfection if you were looking for our 2026 youth break out star…..we found him
Which were all in the second half which I said I didn't watch. Good that he turned it around, but it does not change the fact he was anonymous in the first half.
Got us one of the biggest yank offs of the year coming up in an hour. Weston vs Christian. Juve vs Milan.
puli just missed a pk, def the first time ive seen that. anyone have those numbers in their head? is this his first pro miss?
Crappy miss absolutely that would have been huge points but his pk conversion rate is nothing to worry about. That’s gonna happen to everyone sometimes. He knows it’s a bad miss but he will move on from it, you have to
Pulisic also missed a PK in a DFB Pokal shootout in 2017, though I don't think attempts in shootouts are typically tracked like in-match PKs.
Fell asleep during the 2nd half of the Juve v Milan match. I guess I am not a Serie A fan, too conservative, slow and tactical for my taste. Weston and Puli looked good from what I saw. I would love to see Weston back in the BuLi, I thinks that style of play suits his game much better than Serie A.
I wish I could believe you, but look at Ream's starts since Poch took over. Dude's started every single game save for one cupcake match, a NL 3rd place finale, and the Turkey friendly. He's been the starter for 14 of 16 matches in total of the serious non-cupcake ones, and the two he didn't start, weren't actually super serious matches (a third place game, and 1 of the 2 friendlies in June). Look at the US media videos, and you see him standing next to Poch for a meeting with the players in the locker room and handling more directly interactions with the teammates, he's basically looking like the coaches liaison to the players. What are the chances he pulls a Captain America/Steve Sampson, and bench him for the most important matches in his 2 years as coach? Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it really does seem like he views Ream as his veteran leader on the field, and in the locker room and essentially his coaching assistant. How much do you have to suck to lose that gig? I don't know. Harkes did what he did, but to me, Ream's going to have to be injured, or pull an Agoos and be so bad and get injured, that he must be benched. I pray I'm wrong though. At this point, it's quite clear that Ream has stretched the Veteran Leadership/Coach on the field/professionalism +'s of a player to the breaking point when it comes to inclusion in the XI. He simply cannot move anymore anywhere near enough to be able to defend against elite teams, and/or more MOR teams with top end speed in the attack (say Nigeria, who've been a mess, but have plenty of speed to spare). I fear we need a catastrophe to get him out of the lineup, or an injury, nothing else will do, and if its gonna be a catastrophe, it has to be piles of them in October, November, and March.
If Ream continues to perform at the level he has, he's starting. If he slips significantly like people predict, or if someone else steps up, he probably won't. I think people are crazy to want an 18 year old CB with about 3 career starts to step in. I don't care how physically talented you are, the CB role is not a place you want to go that young unless you have a prodigy.
Ream is the captain over Pulisic, Adams, etc, etc. He is doing things that translate what the coach wants on the field and the coach has made him his example. It’s a reach to think that he’s going to be displaced in a few months. A guy like Banks might be brought in to serve as a guy similar to Richards if they need to sit Richards.
Balogun and Monaco will get a new coach, Sébastien Pocognoli, formerly of Belgium's USG. It appears he prefers 3 atb.
BMG has scally starting and Reyna bench in a crucial matchup against Union Berlin soon , they need three points to right this ship 1-0 Berlin second minute……. That’s certainly not what we are looking for
My son watched the game and told me that Gio was basically non existent. Just no pace and appeared to be just jogging around the field. Either he just physically isn't able to run anymore or doesn't care. And he said he didn't really watch the game. He focused entirely on just watching Gio. Not good. At this point I am writing him off 2026. Going to have to see some huge turnaround to even get consideration from me now.
Banks getting the start today again for Augsburg. Hoping he can solidify a starting slot for his club. I still think he has a chance at making the WC Roster despite not being called into the last window.
Aaronson in for Leeds. Maloney on the bench for Mainz. Tillman not on the team sheet, guessing from the injury. No others I can find right now in the Big 4
Why did Gio get a yellow card for roughing at 90'+4' with his team down 2 goals? Without having seen the game, I would suspect Gio was working hard up until the final whistle.
