Holly 💩.. Alejandro Zendejas just chipped Keylor Navas. Golazo. The kid is on fire 🔥 #USMNT pic.twitter.com/5JuSUj8lEJ— herculez gomez (@herculezg) September 28, 2025
I think he's arguing that if Gregg Berhalter was hypothetically the coach and he hypothetically called up his son he would hypothetically be guilty of nepotism, and therefore must incur our wrath even though his son was called up by Pochettino based on merit.
I think he is just too young. Only way he makes it is if he starts getting time with Dortmund's full team and lights up the Bundesliga. That is a huge step for someone so young. I remember Pulisic getting a few minutes here and there before gradually becoming a starter.
What I think you’ll see is him starting to break through after the winter break potentially. And depending on just how much he just may be able to sneak onto the roster.
How the heck did Zendejas not get a move last window. Is Mexican league just not getting transfer window respect anymore??
In the Pauli v Leverkusen match we saw our first BuLi version of the Gold Cup Malik Tillman; A very active and very involved box to box presence. He played RAM in a 3-4-2-1 but ran up and down the pitch tracking back on defense and supporting that attack with runs. He was taken off at 75 but in that time he led the match in duels 7 of 13, defensive actions 10, and tackles 6! Malik continues to grow into his new league. I thought Sands was also good. He was not flashy but covered a lot of ground, BuLi.com had him at 12.4km which was the match best, and was a strong physical presence in the center of the park. Since Poch is monitoring Malik I hope they paid attention to Sands' performance. https://www.fotmob.com/matches/st-pauli-vs-bayer-leverkusen/27e64p#4829357:tab=stats
He drove the play and finished the play with a golazo. He has back-to-back golazos after a golazo with the USMNT that got the team out of a malaise. We may be watching the emergence of a key contributor. He’s the most in-form US player in the world, and he’s doing it for a top club in a good league.
Zendejas has to be the best Liga MX performer we've ever had, right? Most goals, most league titles, biggest contributor to a top side, etc. Above Herculez Gomez, Jose Torres, and Cle Kooiman, who as far as I can tell are the only three Americans who first broke into the USMNT while playing in Mexico and then ended up playing in a World Cup. (Gomez is borderline since his first competitive caps technically came while he was still in MLS, but his Liga MX form is what first earned him a spot in an A-team USMNT roster.)
You missed my point. I care less if he is called to friendlies. His son is not better than our euro midfield to be considered in the final 23, but if his dad was the coach, there is a good chance he would have taken him.
Ligue 1 standings right now: 1. PSG 2. Lyon (Tessmann) 3. Marseille (Weah) 4. Monaco (Balogun) --- 10. Toulouse (McKenzie)
LigaMx teams tend to price themselves out of transfers. 5g/2a in 10 games worth of minutes certainly make Zendejas one of the most in form attackers.
Just being a consistent late sub at BVB would be more than enough. We have exactly 3 players that are above that level. Plus 2 perpetually injured that might be also above.
Goal pulisic…….. king of the castle king of the castle very naice what’s the view like from the Serie A peak boys? It’s been awhile
I feel like the only major national trophies that we haven't seen an American player win in Europe are La Liga and Serie A. Maybe this is the year for Serie A? Have we ever had an American win Europa League or Conference League? Cardoso came close last year for the one.
Timothy Chandler won the Europa League in 2022. And Thomas Dooley won the UEFA Cup in 1997. Don't think we've had anyone win the Conference League, but that's a pretty new tournament. Edit: Did Bryan Reynolds get a trophy when Roma won the inaugural Conference League a few years back?
You missed his point. You have no real evidence for this last statement being true, but you really wanted to criticize him for doing something he didn't do, so you've decided that's likely and basically decided to say hit out of nowhere even thought there's zero chance of it actually happening.
