It's tough to tell with Gio. He seems to be an incredibly slow healer. But let's see him get the start and go 90(ish) minutes in Gladbach's final match next week.
Weston and Juve got an important win against Lecce for consolidating champions league position in a race that’s still snug
Huge one tomorrow as Milan and Pulisic take on Atalanta at home (and Musah in theory). Their last two games are against Genoa and Caligliari. 14th and 15th. Although Musah is only on loan at Atalanta from Milan, so maybe he can't play. If Milan don't qualify for the Champions League, I don't expect Pulisic to be there.................... Roma takes on mid-table Parma on the road.
And he hit a top speed of 30.07 km/h! Last year he peaked out at 26.92, which was goalkeeper slow. 30.07 is not speedster's pace but is at least not some kind of special needs case. Heck, that's faster than Kobbie Mainoo's top speed.
If my old brain remembers the loan rules correctly in Italy the fact of being on loan has no impact on league play availability in matches. I remember a match that Milan played earlier in the season where it was specifically mentioned that one of the players on the opponent was on loan from Milan. In fact, again if my old brain is working, that player actually scored. Pulisic has a long term expensive contract with Milan so it would be mostly Milan's decision to sell him. They might do so simply because he is not producing and they badly need defense but it is doubtful he is valuable enough, at this time, to make up for the cost of selling him at a bargain basement price.
Not so long of a contract, though. His contract runs thru June of 2027 with the club holding an option for the following season. So his guaranteed contract only runs thru next season. Contract extension talks seem to have totally stalled. If they decide to go into a different direction, Pulisic might be one they can move. I totally agree with you that his value right now isn't as high as it was at Christmas. I bet there'd still be interest, though. He's not on some exorbitant contract. He's paid half as much as Nkunku and Rabiot. Not much more than Santiago Gimenez. They need to fund defense. But also..............................Nkunku and Gimenz have combined for 6 Serie A goals. Their big January solution was to bring in Fullkrug, who has one goal. Yikes. Is Modric retiring? This team seems SO FLAWED. Qualifying for the Champions League will give them some capital to work with, and maybe they build upon the existing squad. If not.............................
Auston Trusty and Celtic beat Rangers 3-1. Celtic is 1 point back of Hearts with 2 to play. That includes, on the last day of the season.................Celtic versus Hearts. With the Nancy debacle, and how badly this season started, this would be an amazing turnaround.
Pepi now with 5 goals in the last 4 games. Drew level with Saibari as PSV's leading scorer in the Eredivisie. 18 goals across all competitions for PSV so far. 30 min of this game and next week to go for a 20 goal season...................... Would have made that easily if not for his injuries.
Another one in the Eredivisie I've been interested in. Taylor Booth. He was on the bench for Twente today. Has been in-and-out of the squad. Played a lot in the early part of the season, and not so much in the 2nd half. Believe it or not, they're sitting 3rd in the Eredivisie after their win today over Sparta. Easy win 4-0. If they can finish in 3rd they'll go to a Champions League qualifying round. They have one more game to go and its against......................PSV.
Pulisic out of an important matchup against Atalanta today due to lower back injury. Coach says precautionary. Good, I like precautionary with the cup this close. No Musah either because parent club loan. AC Milan need this one for champions league pace badly, as Roma just snagged a W late and will pass them without a result.
Now level of points with Roma in 4th. Two ahead of Como in 6th. Something I didn't know before now. 1st tiebreaker in Serie A is head to head. So Milan is still in 4th position based on that. If they can win their last two games, they'll finish 4th. .....................but with the way they're playing, who knows?
yup……. It’s one I keep forgetting too until it matters. It saved Hellas Verona a few years ago from relegation when Venezia was going down. for that reason, this is still in ac Milan’s hands. If they beat Genoa away and Cagliari at home, they’re in no matter what. It would be inexcusable otherwise for them. Back in……. And wholesale the squad. Get Richards and Pepi in……. Profit also thank goodness cologne had such a strong early season they’ve been diabolical since winter, they’ll survive barely. Hopefully Lund option is picked up…….. but I’d be fascinated if Palermo go up in playoffs
Also, in news today. West Ham's loss means Leeds and Palace are officially safe from relegation! Brenden Aaronson and Chris Richards will be in the Premier League next season. [Barring a move.] There were times this season when it was dicey for both. If Leeds win tomorrow against Spurs, they will actually jump all the way to 13th.
Serious YA crash and burns in ligue 1. Lyon need help to assure champions league. Marseille can do no better than Europa. I think Monaco is now even locked out of conference, what a collapse
Zendejas with a brace and assist. I would love to see Club America Zendejas. I just never see it for the MNT. ALEJANDRO ZENDEJAS BRACE TO COMPLETE THE CLUB AMÉRICA COMEBACK! 3-0 DOWN TO LEVEL AT 3-3! 2 GOALS AND AN ASSIST TONIGHT FOR THE USMNT WINGER pic.twitter.com/w2MtLGeSwt— American Ultras Talk (@usmntaut) May 11, 2026
How many of us think Zendejas should be on the roster? Every time I look up he’s contributing for America. Huge club. Big pressure. Dude needs to be with us this summer. He’s got spunk and fight and a killer left boot. He and Luna could be those X factor, heart on sleeve guys we need to jumpstart the emotions of the players, the grit of the team and perhaps the offense at times.
