Cremaschi with his first Serie A start. Playing a RWB role at Fiorentina. Looks like a young player with his first start at the Serie A level. Games a bit fast for him, touch is inconsistent etc etc.
I watched the first ‘25 minutes of Parma vs Fiorentina and I am out. Pretty boring. Cremaschi doing the RWB thing. Looks like a midfielder forced to play RWB. On defense tracking his man to the best of his abilities and on offense mostly cycling the ball around around 25 yards out. He doesn’t have break away speed. Doesn’t bring verticality.
I watched Fulham get knocked out of the FA Cup by Southampton. Antonee was on the bench but didn't play. Fulham controlled much of the game, but conceded a late penalty (soft in my view) to lose 1-0.
Re Parma; yeah they've basically become a smash and grab team to survive. Ain't the prettiest. As for Cremaschi? I think the issue that will rear it's head for him is he's very much a jack of all trades, master of none
Pukstas started and scored against Dinamo Zagreb today. Though Split ended up losing 1-3. Pukstas went 90.
Morris and Middlesbrough beat qpr 3-0 to keep pace for second promotion slot trusty and Celtic beat rangers on penalties in Scottish cup action, trusty stepped up and converted a spot kick too
[R] Seeing that celebration after Estupinian’s score.. Pulisic looked like he tried to join in but was frozen out from the celebration… at least it looked like that to me
Morris(DM in 4141) demonstrated versatility in playing the single-pivot in Bro's 4-0 win over QPR. xA = 0.75 2 key passes 100/104 passing 3/4 long balls 9 recoveries 4/5 grnd duels 0/1 fouls/fouled FM(8.1)4th
Those passing numbers...wow. It's incredible that the guy made more than one successful pass every minute of the match. I don't know what the actual average number of passes attempted by one team in a game is, but it's probably around 350 based on what I've seen over the years. I'm not sure I've ever seen a single player hit triple digits.
It's uncommon but not a rarity to hit 100 passes attempts in a game. You'll typically see it from a single-pivot DM or CB in a side dominating possession.
Dang, this got me to thinking about Barca during their heyday and I looked it up, figuring Xavi would've hit like 300 passes or something. While they did routinely hit 900+ passes in a match (insane), Xavi's personal high was "only" 178. I guess we can say anything over 100 in a winning effort is a very good performance
I think Morris had the highest average in the Championship last season with 71.02 per match (65.2 accurate).
Musuh on 55th minute for Atalanta, damage by Bayern Munich already done though. They're getting ragdolled 6-0. Horrible year for Italy in champions league. Atletico Madrid and Johnny on cruise control against Tottenham 5-1.
In the Championship today, Millwall beat Derby 1-0. Agyemang started to no avail. ....................................what on Earth is going on with Caleb Wiley? For Pete's sake, he missed much of last year with knee and shoulder injuries. He was listed with an adductor injury early in the season, came back in the fall for a couple of matches..................and has been out with this listed adductor injury since September. Back with Chelsea, of course, as Watford terminated his loan. Snake bitten it seems.
Really poor tackle by Tillman gave Arsenal a late penalty to tie the game in Germany. I wouldn't go as far as some, like the people on reddit, saying he lost his job as he's only been back from his ankle for a week and a half or so, but Leverkusen do seem like a better team without him right now. Form ebbs and flows though, so not worried.
Not yank related but this is me ordering my Bodo/Glimt jersey. Right now. RIGHT. NOW. Bros are taking it to the house Leicester City style.
