Keep parsing. You're doing fine. For my own part, I'm one of those who see the game as being 90' long and consisting of 11 players plus a handful of subs. Feel free to disagree. It's the people's game, not mine. They paid for it, as they say.

I watched the Dortmund game yday and didn't see Juve/ManCity. The broadcast was singing the praises of Gittens, the latest version of Dortmund starlet. Look at the goals scored against him. Sure he was fine in instances that drew praise. They didn't comment on where Gittens(#43) was on Barca's goals. The game is 90'.

2 goals in first minute of this clip:

I have no idea what any of that means. If you didn't watch the game, then your opinion on McKennie's performance means literally nothing to anyone.

The western European Leagues are held together by patronage, altruism and sentimentality. In terms of a business they don't work. For instance Preston North End just lost $18 million for the second year in a row and that's considered OK.

If a regular business of that size lost $18 million they'd be gone. But Preston will either get a windfall, such as promotion or a cup run, or the owners will sell to some sucker who thinks he/she can do better, or they will take advantage of bankruptcy protection and pay off their debts at pennies to the pound.

I mean the Ipswich "miracle" only happened because the former owner wrote off £tens of millions the club owed him. If he hadn't done that the new owners wouldn't have been able to (successfully) gamble on promotion.

But what's happening in League Un should be a warning. Bordeaux and all their history gone, Lyon on their way down, others cutting costs to try and stay afloat. It wouldn't take much of a downturn in the economy for that to happen elsewhere.

MLS has tried to create a sustainable model. The downside is that a few very rich people get richer in the process, just like in the other 99.9% of the economy.

What about Juve fans as well? They've been hating on him mercilessly for back to back offseasons, and he wrangles his way back in and they forget everything. I think they're actually much worse, they're pups at the homer farm just swallowing up the talking points of the board at Juve every offseason with no critical thinking skills to speak of. Other than the obvious person, I tend to think most of this boards issues with Wes have been related to:
    1. Inconsistency of play
    2. Fitness/weight
    3. Suspensions

We're not feeding at any media trough, we're just watching and noting how there is "great" McKennie, and "Bad" McKennie. A huge portion of Juve fans just remind me of the stupidest fans of any team, except just more of them, like Leeds (but not nearly as bad as Leeds).

Leeds fans are fine with Aaronson at this stage. I think people got the wrong impression about Leeds after McK got lambasted by the "fat bastard" thing which was just knee jerk reaction to getting relegated.

Leeds are looking at Stadium expansion to 50k+ level, they appear to be on their way to promotion to EPL, and I'm really impressed with the character of the team the 49'ers are building. It's been a great season so far.

Lyon get another good result. For them, making the Champions league literally might be life or death for them (and continuing in this current European tournament). They need all the money that they can get. Champions League has money. Tessmann DNP this one

I watched some of Celtic vs Brugge and vs Zagreb. Celtic's defensive organization did a great job of protecting the CBs from foot races and of shielding the backline in general. When the ball was turned over, the mids tracked back with impressive pace and team shape. Those are aspects the US does not excel at. This reminds of El Homie Castillo during the days Liga Mx played in the Copa Libertadores. Reports had him killing the Brasilian teams, yet was rather mid with us. Then I tuned in a Tijuana match. I'd never seen a fullback get that kind of cover.

Excepting the own goal, CCV is a great fit in Celtic's system. Comparatively, with the US, a defender tends to be left on an island. Maybe Poch can fix this.

My guess is Poch fixes things by not calling in CCV

Whatever. The US defense has been fragile or some time. Celtic's hasn't.

Gross also instrumental in their goal. So a positive and a negative.

Zendijas won Club American a champion. His misfit shot resulted in first goal by his teammate, and his 2nd goal is a beauty.
Also he created two or three clear chances but his teammates failed to score. Very active and very feisty. At 72 minutes, he fought over two guys to control the ball.

It was pretty fragile against Dortmund. It's good enough for the SPL.

    Zendejas MOTM

Has Zendejas ever done anything of note for the USMNT, doesn't seem to get 1% the criticism that much younger guys like Reyna and Tillman (or even Cardoso/Tessmann types) get around here...

Too bad the USMNT doesn't get to play Hibernian... why not call up Donte Polvara... how come Ian Harkes never got called up

That made me look at the table. What on Earth is going on in Edinburgh?

Sounds like a question for HITC Sevens.

    Too bad Celtic don't play Jamaica(gave up 2 goals), Mexico(gave up 2), New Zealand(gave up 1),
Panama(gave up 2 and got grouped).

The curse of Matthew Hoppe on Hibs.

[Speaking of Yanks Abroad disappearing acts. He's played 74 minutes this entire club season. Not even loaned out to some sort of Isthmian league or whatever in England.]

Agree with both physicality and technical qualities in Wes, but for me what makes him most dangerous are attacking vision, creativity, and directness.

Juve has rounded out his defensive/positioning game as well. Table stakes or you don't play in Italy.

Yep. No need to speculate..... we already know Celtic centerbacks would dominate a “shitty” team like Panama (see CCV in Copa match)

Our CB pool isn't so deep that CCV (or anyone playing at a decent level) can be written off........................

Tillman coincidentally did well in Scotland and then moved to a better league
