Yeah, if Im coach, those players are planted to the bench for 4-6 games each, would even consider terminating Abraham loan

He’s not on the pitch. Pulisic needs to assert himself if he is the taker and Theo needs to act like a captain.

On the first one, when the captain is the one directly disobeying the coach, and the coach doesn't step in what's Pulisic supposed to do about it?

On the second one, Pulisic did appear to ask for it, but needs to be more assertive.

    1. Hernandez is Captain of the team and he has very strong personality. Remember when Lazio’s fans threat Puli, it is Hernandez stands up and saying I am his bodyguard, your cowards dare to come.
    2. It is Hernandez’s birthday and he is tied for most goals scored by a Milan defender in the history book (26 totals). He tried to have a birthday gift.
    3. Hernandez gave up a Penalty and he wants the revenge.
    4. Even though he failed to score, but he did give the cross that Puli finished.
    5. For 2nd one, what heck is Abraham doing. But he did scored on before (previous game, Puli scored the 1st PK, he did the 2nd PK). I guess that Puli just want him to score to build up self-confidence. Like Haji’s first US game and Puli lets him scored the PK.

That is interesting. I haven't watched him in Holland, but I felt like based on the Olympics, he was kind of like his brother...some skill and lots of hustle but probably not enough offensive production to play in the front 3 of a 4-3-3. Unlike his brother, I feel like Paxten is a bit better on the dribble and making line-splitting passes...two qualities that could translate well to being a deeper-lying midfielder, if he can do the job defensively.

Paxten is a much better finisher and a more capable one on one player. I think Brenden's a bit better at finding space and on the break, and obviously, defensively. I might quibble a bit with the passing assessment you've made, actually.

But I think the biggest gap is that Brenden is not good at putting the ball actually in the net and Paxten has a pretty good shot and sense for goal. And on the flip, Paxten doesn't have all of Brenden's engine.

    But as
He mentions a loss of confidence following the relegation season in Germany. A couple of posters poo-pooed me when I suggested that Leeds relegation may have affected Brenden Aaronson's confidence. But it happens. I've seen plenty of players fall apart after a relegation season. The stakes are huge and some people shoulder too much responsibility on themselves. And fans don't help, they see a player shirking and they pile on.

Easy to forget he was also a kid far from home. It's not easy to leave home young and dive right into a high stakes, high pressure environment. I'm hoping he gets a chance to move up the ladder again before all is said and done. He may be ready at this point and is likely to keep improving for another couple years.

I expect to see him get some minutes over this window with Balogun out. Curious what he'll do with them.

Paxten Aaronson taking a more central midfield role after starting the campaign on the left wing.

And it seems to be paying dividends for Jans and the American alike, with Aaronson scoring his first goals of the season in back-to-back games in this new role.

That's from the total football analysis link above.

Actually what I like most about Paxten's development is the increased pressing in the attacking half. People look at a few goals in Eredvisie and suggest Paxten is the better sibling but Brenden can play against very good players whereas Paxten is trying to improve that side of his game in Eredvisie before returning to Eintracht and trying again for a starting role on a BL team.

Paxten just turned 21 in August. He has 3 more years before he starts peaking at the usual age of 24. It also gives him 2 years in Europe before the WC so he may yet make the 26 man roster.

I can see either of Sarge or Pepi starting. Pepi also works his ass off pressing up top. But definitely wouldn't be surprised by Sargent starting and if I had to guess I'd probably go that way too, but I don't think Pepi is out of the conversation.

Reading the post match threads it seems like NT fans are making exactly the same criticisms about Aaronson as Leeds fans.
