We should keep a side-eye on USYNTer Grayson Dettoni at Bayern. Hell, we should keep a side-eye on any young, USMNT-eligible CB. 8th straight 90+ mins for 🇮🇹- 🇺🇸 19 year old cb Grayson Dettoni at Bayern Munich 2; 8 straight starts undefeated in league- 🥱 🥱 - youngest team by far in league, 🥱. pic.twitter.com/oNk1eyahgp— David Dettoni (@DavidDettoni) September 15, 2024

Venezia Gianluca BUSIO 6: qualche fine giocata tra le linee d'attacco per l'italo-statunitense. Gianluca BUSIO 6: the Italian-American put forth some fine play between the attacking lines.
It isn't saying much but I thought Busio was the best player by far for Venezia. Actually looks like he added some steel to his game that was missing.
I love that he always wants the ball. Might sound stupid but that is not such a common trait. He always shows for it and makes. For venezia it sucks but it’s early in season. Weve already had to play lazio, fiorentina, Torino, and ac Milan. Easier teams are coming
I’d rather Pulisic never get the third element (yellow card) for the Geordie Howe hart trick since yellow card accumulation actually is detrimental in soccer, unlike in hockey, where accumulation of the third element (fight) doesn’t often lead to suspension (usually). Of course, fighting accumulation means bye bye Lady Byng trophy!
Opta ranks the 6 worst Eredivisie teams below the worst MLS team and MLS is ranked ahead of the Dutch league as a whole. As someone who has seen a decent number of league games this century last season was the lowest I’ve ever seen the Eredivisie.
Yeah I don’t fully agree. Our targets aren’t as good as they have been in the past and his service has improved but in the past it was not good. He wasn’t getting the right shape/pace for the area he was targeting. According to FBref/Opta these two corners this season are the first primary or secondary assists he’s gotten off of a dead ball in his career. He’s at 2 primary or secondary assist on 118 set pieces for club. From the run of play his crossing has not been great but that’s a bit of a different issue. With his right that has mostly been about where he is targeting his service to. With his left it’s that and a little technical weakness.
One interesting thing that I'm seeing from the FBRef data is that he's attempting a lot more inswinging corner kicks this season than he has in the past. That seems to be the most significant development there. https://fbref.com/en/players/1bf33a9a/Christian-Pulisic#all_stats_passing_types That link shows that he has taken 53 corner kicks in his club career since 2017. (There's another figure in that same link that shows 65 corners, but I believe that is including short corners.) 20 of those 53 corner kicks came during his last season at Dortmund in 2018-19. Of those 20, only 3 were inswingers. At Chelsea, Pulisic essentially didn't take corner kicks, as FBRef shows him attempting only 4 total during his entire 4 year spell there. Last season, Pulisic attempted 18 corner kicks at Milan, and 13 of those were outswingers. A few games into this season, Pulisic has already attempted 11 corner kicks and all but 1 of them have been inswingers. And he has his first two assists from them now.
Don’t like tessnann on bench for Lyon, coulda been helping Venezia :/ . Hopefully breaks through soon. McKenzie helped pitch a shut out for Toulouse
Lyon is a significantly tougher lineup to break into. McKenzie to Toulouse was my favorite move by an American player this transfer window.

Fingers crossed that we have something with Josh Wynder. According to @glorioso1904pt, Wynder has impressed Rui Costa, Benfica director, enough to reward Wynder with an extension. In swinger or out swingers are controlled by which side the corner kick is taken. The kicker has no choice in this unless he takes with either foot.
Obviously. But I still find it interesting that he has predominately taken outswinging corners in his club career (at a 3 to 1 ratio at least) prior to this year and never registered an assist on them, while he has almost exclusively taken inswinging corners this year and registered two assists off them already, with the season barely underway.
I scored an Olympico from the right side with the outside of my right boot once. In practice. With nobody defending.
"Extension" means that the team will actually extend payment. It's the highest honor a Portuguese team can bestow, and it's not taken lightly.
