I do suspect that if NE was a serious trophy contender, they would have retained Jones. But they started rebuild mode a little early. Said...............let's cash in on Jones, and give the kid a shot. As far as Ledezma goes, let's see what he looks like after being challenged more at the position. its not like PSV has had a murderer's row of opponents to start the season. Four weaker opponents. Let's not predetermine how Ledezma will do against stronger opponents. Let's give him the chance to prove it and see. I'm certainly willing to take a look at him.
Ledezma situation is a straight up gift. Nothing but upside there . Don’t think anyone saw that coming
Teams with best players of Morris level doing reasonably well in Oceania. We might try to change a conference if that's true.
If you don't understand it, I'll repeat, he isn't close to our best players. If he is the best we should request to be moved to Oceania conference. And still he is a good player deserving to be called to the A team.
PSV has played Almere, Go Ahead Eagles, Heracles, and Waalwijk. These were bottom half teams in 2023-2024. And bottom half Eredevisie might be MLS level. Might...................... PSV may have been able to play an orange traffic cone at right back against Almere City and still won. They play their first even semi-decent opponent this weekend in NEC. Then they have Juventus in the Champions League. . So let's see if they start Ledezma in those games, and what the results are. I'd be thrilled to get Ledezma into the mix if he plays well against that caliber of opponent. Dest probably won't be back for PSV until the second half of the season. And we'll have to see how aggressive they are with him when he does become available.
Ledezma might help defensively by helping retain possession and move the ball up the field. He's probably decent at best at defending right now but as we just saw with Fossey keeping the ball away from the other teams offense makes the defense look better because they don't have as many chances to mess up (we also saw reason #1 why young defenders rarely get time in games that matter ie Wiley).
🏆 Congrats to Brenden Aaronson, who has been voted by fans to be our JD Sports Player of the Month for August— Leeds United (@LUFC) September 13, 2024
Leeds fans are simple. They kind of remind me of Red Sox fans here in Boston. [Of which I am not one.] If you're deemed a hard worker and committed to helping the team win, they love you. If you deliver a trophy, they love you for life. If you're deemed lazy or not fully committed or not delivering what you're supposed to, they will turn on you harder than anybody. So yes, if Brenden Aaronson keeps working the way he has been, and delivering positive results...................then Leeds fans will love him. If he's one of the best players that helps them get promoted, he will be remembered with great fondness. He'll never had to buy a beer in a Leeds pub for the rest of his life. Its like how we say the Red Sox fanbase is completely different than a Cubs or Cardinals fanbase.
Eyes peeled on Dortmund. Three of our top talents in the pipeline. Mathis Albert, formerly of the Galaxy. Jack Mize, formerly of NYRB. And dual-national Cole Campbell (who did spend time at Atlanta's academy). Campbell with Dortmund II, Mathis recently broke into the U19s, Mize in the U17s. Unfortunately, Mize was recovering from injury during the recent US U17 camp. Didn't play that much. Your first mistake is obviously assuming that all Leeds fans all think alike. Believing that a couple of tweets or a reported "boo" represents the opinion of the majority is a bit daft. Clearly the majority think he's reet.
Of course. And not all Red Sox fans are either. It doesn't mean there isn't a reputation. .........................Leeds fans are tough. Its like Weston McKennie. He went to Juventus and we were all complimenting him for getting much fitter and dedicating himself more. Well.................Leeds didn't get that Weston McKennie. We as US fans got very defensive on Weston's behalf. But, were they wrong? Brenden Aaronson cost Leeds a ton of money. Leeds paid more for him than AC MIlan paid for Christian Pulisic. And in the Premier League he DID NOT deliver for his pricetag. So of course they criticized him harshly. But he came back and if he helps them get promotion..................all will be forgiven.
Great goal from Luca. Dribbles the full length of the pitch on a counter and scored deftly. Poch... please get this teenager to sign up.

Didn't see the game, so can't comment on Aaronson's overall performance. This is some nice play, though. 🇺🇸 What a ball from Brenden Aaronson that really should’ve been an assist 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/fPRDEdqIkP— American Ultras Talk (@ameriultrastalk) September 14, 2024
Bad news: 1) Ethan Horvath has been benched. 2) Chris Richards has been benched. 3) De Jong is back. 4) Trusty not a starter yet.
