Watching the Milan-Barcelona friendly on delay. Pulisic playing this game very much as a central attacking mid (I recognize it's pre-season, so this may very well be a one-off experiment). A goal and an assist. I've already seen the assist - good outside diagonal run with a cross tapped in on the back post. Haven't seen his goal yet on the broadcast.

EDIT - just saw the goal. Very tough angle. Not sure if he meant to do what he did. If so, very creative goal.

What else could he have meant to do? He has become a pretty lethal finisher.

Reyna started Dortmund's friendly against Villarreal yesterday, which finished as a 2-2 draw. Note US U20 winger Cole Campbell on the bench. He came on and looked "lively" according to the twitterverse. That kid is one to really key an eye on in terms of a breakout this year.

I am surprised. Does anyone who knows BVB have an idea why Reyna played after his being told by BVB that he should move?

I like the sentiment but I think they could have chosen a better word than servant.

I thought that too. It makes it sound like he was a janitor who cleaned up the locker room for decades.

It's a cliché of British sport speak--I hear game commentators say it all the time.

Nothing wrong with that: to serve your country - to serve your club.

Maybe just wording but serving and servant seem different to me. One seems voluntary while the other seems more like you're owned.

Basically, words mean what Americans say they mean. If you're a cineaste, this Brit pic from way back is really good. Joseph Losey directing, Pinter screenwriting.

Julian Green cranked in his second PK of the season against Kaiserslautern. Dude is 29 years old? Christ, now I feel old.

Trusty starting for Sheffield United in the Championship opener. Hoping to see him grow this season too.

We had a war to avoid having to say things like servant, massive and you're a star.

Actually, he started on the bench and remained there for the full 90 minutes in a 2-0 SU win. I'm not terrible surprised as Wilder went with a back 4 and both of today's starting CB's (Robinson and Ahmedhodzic) performed better than Trusty last season...of course that's not saying much.

Actually, he didn't. Trusty started on the bench. As did Duane Holmes for Preston. It's gotten off to a roaring start in the Championship for Americans!! Good 2-0 road win for Sheffield United.

Brendo scores a tough late tying goal in traffic after subbing on...and then 2 minutes later misses a sitter to win it. Leeds should have probably scored 6 or 7 today but had to get bailed out to get a draw
