    Prospect? Or player.

Player, it would Gio. I just want him to have a chance to start a ton of games and show what he can do.

Less of a known quantity? If I were them, I'd target Taylor Booth. I think he's got enough physical tools and game to step up effectively and play a nice role.

hell I’d prefer a player. Gio is my absolute peak ambition. If we got him or Pepi on loan I view it as highway robbery. We get Gio or pepi I’d say survival is assured

Venezia is going to have a hard time staying up unless they spend big.

Serie A is now one of the harder leagues to stay in. Even the bottom teams take points off the better teams and the middle teams are all pretty good. It goes at least 10-12 teams deep right now of solid teams (Italy could have gotten 9 and even 10 teams in Europe next season if things had broken just right - they will have 8 in as it stands).

Not easy for promoted teams to find enough points to stay up.

    No.

That is part of completing the deal. So far all reports are that deal will happen.

    We shall see.

I think Bologna would be a better destination. otherwise he will be in a relegation battle from day 1.

We will, but this aint no Venezia 1.0 freak show promotion. We are much better prepared to go up this time. Visibily the second best team in Serie B. And the bottom half of the table is very weak. The Hellas Verona, Lecce, Cagliari, Empoli, Udinese types can be had. This goes without looking at Parma or Como too. We only have to be better than three of those. This is the chance to survive and consolidate. If relegated, no way we can keep him. But I hope he gives us a chance to survive.

How are they at goalie? Should we send Matt Turner, Slonina, Schulte, or Celentano there?

Trusty, McKenzie, Tolkin, or Wiley would be some defensive options. And as an attacking mid maybe Luna or Gutierrez.

I don't know why that Aaronson news is depressing.
The top of the Championship is pretty even with the bottom of the Bundesliga if you ask me.

Leeds paid a helluva lot of money for Brenden Aaronson. They paid more for him than AC Milan paid for Pulisic.
He's under contract with them. If they want him, then Brenden stays there. Its just reality.

but no colaship team plays the middle and top of the bundesliga. who you play matters as much- if not more than- who you play for.

It will be interesting to compare Brenden and Aidan Morris this upcoming season. Not an apples to apples comparison in terms of how their clubs will likely use them. But close enough to make some inferences.

    I get it,

I actually think that the top of the Championship might be Brenden Aaronson's level, though.

He had 2 goals and 2 assists across all competitions for one of the worst teams in the Bundesliga.
And people talk on these boards about his performance there as if it was good.
For most of the year he had no impact in the Bundesliga. 0 goals and 0 assists.
His mountain of four goal contributions came after Feb. 1st.

True story. Brenden Aaronson was the 2nd highest paid player on Union Berlin last season.
That's the kicker. He's on a Premier League salary of a contributing player. He's on ~50k per week!

I'm sure Leeds would love to loan Aaronson to a club that would take on that salary. But who is going to pay that for a player with 2 goals and 2 assists????

So they basically have to keep him or loan him somewhere & pay the salary anyway. Difficult.
We talked about Gio Reyna's salary being a roadblock to loan opportunities because clubs were penny pinching in the January window. Brenden Aaronson gets paid 20% more than Gio Reyna. [According to capology anyway.]
