Compared to other Chelsea castoffs, pulisic is the most notable off the top of my head really killing it after he left. Is anyone of the recebt cheeses castoffs showing as well as him since they left? Chelsea fleeced Man U and arsenal fir Havertz and Mount
He did win Man of the Match. But even Palace fans seem confused. He was player of the month last year when he got an extended look but Roy has dropped him and hasn't been playing him as a CB. Seems to get good reviews when he plays
The USMNT player pool seems to have a lot of flexibility in ways that ought to give GB a lot of roster flexibility. Dest and Scally can play either FB and have done so a fair amount in top 5 leagues. Richards has played some FB, as has Adams. Richards has played DM now, and seems able to play it adequately. Musah can play DM. Probably so can Wes if he is so inclined. Weah has played RB in a top % league. So has Wes. Scally has played outside RCB in a three CB line. Tillman can play AM or wing. So can Reyna and B Aaronson. So can CP. Balogun can play wing or CF. So can Sarge. Given all this, I would think there is no reason not to bring Balogun, Pepi and Sarge on a 23 man tournament roster when all are healthy. Given all the extra FB coverage offered by Weah, Wes, Richards and the flexbility of Dest and Scally, why bring a 4th FB? We have capable MFs in Adams, Reyna, Wes, Musah, Tillman, and LDLT. If that group feels defensively light, we can add one of our decent DMs in Johnny, Maloney and Tessman. We could get by with 3 wingers in CP, Weah and Aaronson. It doesn't look like the player pool limits the number of ways we can play like it once did.
He did a lot of the smart, professional stuff you want from an attacker coming on late in a tight match against a rival. Won duels, fought through challenges, took decisive action, wasted time when they were up.
I thought he was fine over about the half I watched. Playing smarter and more consistently than when he first arrived. AZ we’re poor.
LDLT and Celta Vigo playing fellow relegation candidates Cadiz. Cadiz went down to 10 in the 33rd, but Celta have thus far been unable to break the 1-1 tie. In the 82nd minute
This one wasn't even close to his best call. When Pulisic scored in the game where Giroud had to finish in goal, the commentator went to "Yes we can, Yes we will, Yes we are!!" followed by a bunch of USA chants. If nothing else, he gets major points for effort. One of these days, I'm expecting him to list off every president since Lincoln like that Norwegian announcer who listed a bunch of English people and then said "your boys got one hell of a beating!" back in the early 1980s when Norway upset England.
So random question, I know we have talked a bit of the Turkish league. Is that just one we want our guys to avoid even if its Besiktas, Galatasaray, Fenerbache, or Trabzonspor? While there are Europe spots with those guys, is the rest of the league basically USL level?
USMNT’s problem is not about players and their talents, but the way to play. Simple: TOO DAMN SLOW. It is kind of like American Football (you know the one Dest can be a great kicker), give opponents 10 seconds to setup before launching an offensive play. It happened in full NAT, but also in U-23, U-20 and even U-17.
Despite a 33' Cadiz red, De la Torre(cm in 442) and Celta had to settle for a 1-1 draw. They're now 2 points from safety. With Celta being up a man, DLT had much more of an attacking remit. We know he's not a serious goal creator. 48/52 passing 1 key pass 0 shot on target 0/3 dribbles 0/9 duels 0/3 fouled/fouls Sofascore(6.4)14th
For all of those still thinking De la Torre could be an answer at defensive mid compare his duels and likely other unnamed defensive stats with Richards starting his first game in the position.
This match was somewhat unrepresentative as DLT played further forward than usual. But he wouldn't be a realistic option for an Adams back up.
