Except: “A penalty is a cowardly way to score.” – Pelé I have never really thought that PKs should be counted in a players goal scoring statistics they should count for the team but not for the player. In fact a made penalty should not count but a missed penalty should be a minus one. Penalties should be scored in excess of 98% of the time but they are not. They are too easy a conversion to miss with a reasonable amount of practice. All the player needs to do is hit aa 2ft by 3ft box below the crossbar in either corner and there is not a keeper in the world that could stop it and it does not even have to be hit particularly hard.
