My wife and I will be visiting London from Portland, Oregon Feb. 27-March 2. My trip will not be complete without attending the Feb. 28 match against Cardiff City. This is my first trip to Europe, and, of course, my first soccer match outside of North America.

Do I have to use the WHUFC booking form or can I buy tickets through Ticketmaster? I 've had a hard time understanding the WHUFC website. All I can tell is tickets for the match go on sale to non-members Jan. 27.

And what are the best pubs to visit before and after matches? I have a handful of Timbers [A-League] Army scarves I'd love to swap with or give to helpful West Ham fans.

    call them directly for tickets.

if you have problems email me.

    also..join the whu@yahoogroups.com

    loads of helpful guys there.

if you email me I'll send your details on to the list.

    Pubs:

I went to the boleyn on the corner. Nice place - gates to keep the Cardiff City thugs out.

If you have any other troubles, I have some good buddies I could ask for extra tickets.

Steer clear of the Boleyn pub, it gets too busy and is starting to get full of idiots, walk a bit further down the Barking Road to The Central, good mix of home/away fans, good atmosphere, big pub and you will get served a lot quicker.

Ring the ticket office direct, ask to speak to Steve Kitcher, or Gina, explain your situation and Im sure they will be able to help you out.

Oh how I wish the Prince of Wales was still open.

Other than that I enjoyed the Queen, opposite the Boleyn towards the tube stop, I believe. Very easygoing and friendly atmosphere.

Actually I didn't mind the Boleyn before the match, but its been 2 years since I've been and I would defer to Dazza on this matter.

Damn, I am envious. We may have to give you a shopping list...:)

    Upton Park Here I Come!

I just bought tickets for the 28 February match. It's going to be the highlight of my London trip, I'm sure. The dollar-pound exchange rate is a killer, but it'll be worth it.

    Phoning the ticket office

Hello, I'm new here, going to London in March, and also trying to get a match ticket. I'm trying to call the ticket office, but I think I'm doing it wrong.(Never called anyone outside of US/Canada before). What I have been dialing is 011 44 (city code, 171 or 181?) 0870 112 2700

What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance

    Not 100% sure but try:

    0044 870 112 2700

To be honest the ticket office phone lines will be pretty busy these next few days with us Season Ticket holders trying ot get our cup replay tickets, so you might face a bit of a wait

Awesome! Have a great trip, and give us a complete report here.

Glad to see the Hammers faithful growing on these shores.

I'm back in the States. A detailed report on my pilgrimage to Upton Park will be posted once I catch up on things at home and sort through my photos.

    Eric,

Any updates? I'm heading to London in April and was thinking about catching a match. Any information you can provide about; ticket purchase, seating, pre/post game activities, or travel would be greatly appreciated.

    Seat Location

I'm thinking about catching the April 17th match while I'm in town. Do any of you have suggestions as to which section I should try to be in? From the web site it seems that there are tickets left in the Bobby Moore Stand section, is that the place to be?

I want to avoid any family section type atmosphere, the more passion the better (as long as I don't get a beat down for not knowing a song or two;)

    Thanks for any advice.

The Bobby Moore Stand is the place to be. I stood (not sure if you can anymore) in the lower and the atmosphere was majestic.

Thanks, it looks like all that is available is in the upper section unless anyone has access to tickets that are not through the team. "Majestic" sounds just what I'm looking for.

My first Hammers experience was in the Bobby Moore Upper and it was awesome. Last time we were in the Rio stand lower, right next to the Bobby Moore and it was pretty good, but there were some families. Didn't really matter though, because the dads were cussing a blue streak.
