From what I understand he has 12 million €€ in the club, which now turns into a loan with a high %, 10 iirc. Alternative seems to be a lower ownership 24%, which can be done without permission of the licency committee.
Okay, that makes more sense. So he's invested, but now unable to complete the takeover unless he is able to show more liquidity or bring on more investors. Interesting side-observation: one of the companies The Common Group's VC division has invested in is Statsbomb.

Interview with Coley Parry after the turn down by the licence committee: Use google translate if interested: https://www.telegraaf.nl/sport/4402...g-vitesse-overname-kwaadwillend-en-beledigend
That was a very interesting article. Granted some of it might have been lost in translation, but it seemed that their journalist was asking some pretty direct questions, but in the same token, did not understand Parry's role with the club.
American is about to take over at WBA fyi. Shilen Patel. Apparently his family also has had a stake in Bologna for some time. Timing wise kinda stinks it had to happen right after Dike's injury.

Ineos owner Sir Jim Ratcliff has obtained about 25% of Manchester United. The Glazers are still the majority owners. Oostende finally has a potential buyer ... Paris St. Germain. Still early in the talks. Also in Belgium, Standard de Liege had money issues again. The 777 Group fired their former CEO, who took them to court. The court sided with the former CEO with a buyout, but 777 did not agree so they refused to pay. The former CEO went and got more legal people involved which caused the accounts to be frozen until he was paid. This means that the players were not paid until the buyout was paid.
More bad news for 777 Group: Fresh questions over Everton takeover with 777 set to lose major source of funding I've tried to remove some of the more technical parts from The Athletic's report tl;dr - 777 Group has the money spigot turned off, causing the Premier League to request face-to-face meetings with 777 Group about the nature of their financial stability
Ouch, that will have major issues with the other 777 Group clubs including some pretty high profile clubs in their respective nations.
Another one from The Athletic: U.S. investor signs letter of intent to buy Rochdale According to the writer of this story, World Soccer Holdings LLC also owns MVV Maastricht in the Eerste Divisie. although I'm struggling to confirm this outside of a LinkedIn post made by one of the owners of WSH LLC that says they signed a LOI to purchase MVV 8 months ago. edit: Manchester Evening News says that they own a "sizeable chunk of MVV Maastricht", but, again, unclear if they're the controlling holders. Also says that the made a move last year to purchase ADO Den Hag, but couldn't complete the purchase.

Speaking of Denmark, NPR ran a story this morning about a bunch of Americans who pitched in to buy a minority stake in a Danish club. https://www.npr.org/2024/04/10/1243...-buy-a-minority-share-in-a-danish-football-cl A group of New York-based friends and acquaintances pooled funds to buy a minority stake in a struggling Danish soccer club. Two of the investors share their experiences thus far. Akademisk Boldklub is in the Danish 3rd tier.
After only 2 seasons as the majority shareholder, the 777 Group is entertaining offers for Standard de Liege. Bill Foley of AFC Bournemouth appears to want to purchase the club. Foley "recently" purchased 25% share in Hibernian in the Scottish Premier League. I will update that in the next round of updates. Also in Belgium, Oostende avoided relegation to the National League (3rd and Amateur League). This would have dropped the sale price quite a bit and also the interest in the club. There have been reports that between two and three groups are looking to purchase the club, but avoiding their 2nd relegation in a row was a contingency. Now that it has been avoided, there is a good chance that a buyer emerges.
