Just thought I'd start this one up again. Back in the states now for the holidays but will be up for getting together in Jan. sometime. Anyone else? Also, this is posted in Fans & Travel about going to the Confed. Cup in France this summer. Anyone else interested? https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=564179#post564179
I'm definitely in for the confed-- like Splarg, I can do without the French, but a little bit of French cooking would really brighten my day about now...
bumperino. Ok, so I'm back in London now (even though it seems I brought the snow with me). Anyway, when's the next USMNT match? Can someone call Sports Cafe (or somewhere else) to see if they'll be showing it? Also, anyone up for seeing a match sometime?
I still have 2 spots in my car if anyone wants to get their own tickets to Everton - Leeds on Feb 1'st if they are still available (i think they are) I guess tell me before you book them so i can make sure i have room in the car. I could accomadate 3 more people, but it would be 3 in the back and only moderatly comfortable instead of ultra-pimp comfortable. Should be fun even though McBride has no chance against Woodgate.
does anyone want to come along to Everton? ticket information here: http://www.evertonfc.com/tickets/index.asp tickets are between £19.50 and £27
Ah it's too bad-- I'm out of town that weekend. Sadly it doesn't look like anyone will be carrying US-Canada (no surprise there), but there are pubs that do have access to setanta PPV-- I just doubt US-Canada is one of those matches that would spur them on to pony up...
When are we going to start doing Confederations Cup stuff? We should sort that soon. get all the americans we know and get us tickets behind one of the goals. I am looking to stay for the entire tournament. Even if we don't progress.
any news on how we are going to do the confederations cup? how are we going to get there? train or plane?
Wow... This thread seems to have taken a bit of a nap. Looks like I'll be in London from 21-27 April -- definitely plan to see at least a weekend match and hopefully something during the week as well. Any suggestions? kpaulson, you may want to warm up your drinking shoes as well... Tedd has that evil look in his eye.
I don't know if I'll be able to leave London -- Leeds aren't in the city over that weekend, are they? Currently it looks like my best bets are Chelsea/Everton on 21 April (if I can get in town early enough) and hopefully Chelsea/Fulham on 26 April. West Ham/Boro is the backup for Monday but I may be out of luck for other Saturday matches... So if there's interest (or anyone has ins for tickets for those matches) let me know... Anything else going on worthwhile in London that week/weekend? I think Massive Attack is at Brixton Academy on Monday, so I may try to see that as well if tickets are still available.
They are playing Weds 16 to Sun 20 Apr. All but Saturday appear to be sold out... tickets being quoted at £65 each for face £23. Ouch !
Ouch indeed... I'm not coming in until Monday most likely, so the other shows are moot (for me anyway).
Anyway, I bought a ticket for Everton-Chelsea on the 21st. No interest in Chelsea-Fulham on Saturday? There are other games in London on the 26th, but I'm guessing Spurs-ManU tickets won't be cheap. Charlton-Southampton might be a fallback of sorts... West Ham and Arsenal are on the road that day. Granted, Chelsea tickets aren't exactly cheap either.
The only time Chelsea tickets are cheap is when you compare them to the prices of the "Take the Money and Run" tour Man U are doing in the states this summer!
http://www.ussoccer.com/templates/includes/tickets/pix/Confed_tix.pdf you can buy confed cup tickets from the US Soccer website now. (says we have an April 30'th deadline as well) Does anyone have an idea about how to handle all of this? How do we all go about getting tickets in the same section? someone should step up and take charge (matt maybe? he's clever....) one thing that is funny.... for the group stages.... It costs $52 for a single Category I ticket... or $54 for 3 Category III tickets.
