Stolen from somewhere else on the boards:

    This point should be reiterated.

So the message sent to Magee is we suck hard without you, so hold out for more next time.

Way to go, Yallop. Really taught him a lesson there.

We started 0-1-2 (wtl) last year, we will be lucky to do better this year (@Portland and home vs. Redballs). So much for not getting out to a slow start.

Interesting that Magee claimed the opposite. I remember the "calm down Frankowski nursing a hammy issue" talk as well when Hamlett kept him out of the DC United game that followed his 2 goal first half performance against NE. I've seen this song and dance before. I also saw it when Hamlett benched Blanco at the beginning of the '09 season, weight issues, or a knee issue was it Dennis? Anyways Blanco laughed and said he was ready to go contradicting the Hammer.

“I had him on the bench because of his experience,” said Yallop. “He said he was okay at 80 or 90 percent if we needed a goal late but I’d already used all of my subs at the 75th minute because of the fatigue our guys had.”

Per the article on fire website about his injury status. And Rolfe likely not to start against Portland

Please don't start Alex! With Duka and Rolfe hurt its a perfect opportunity for Amarikwa, Shipp and Joya to start. I'm ok if we don't sign another crappy player this summer from a foreign league with a huge transfer fee if we get Ward when his foot heals. We should use this season to build a system with the young talent we have because they possibly are capable of becoming legitimate stars of this league. I previously was not a believer in Amarikwa but the guy is good, he's a hard worker, he's young and he's inexpensive. We may have the talent to compete in this league but we'd need to play the right players to find out.

    Repped for Truth

We'll see in the next couple of games if we can even be close to competing this year. My guess is no. If that's the case, we should let some young guys have some major playing time and focus all energy on the US open cup. Get some old guys off the books (Pause, Rolfe) at the end of the year and sign a good complimentray DP next year.

Who starts in place of Alex? Unless you have Qunicy in the midfield, if Quincy starts I hope that means that Anangono doesn't.

Going forward, this would be nice:

    ----------Amerikwa-----------
    Joya--Magee--Shipp--Nyarko
    -----------Big Red-------------
    --Quote, unquote "Defense"--
    -----------Johnson------------

Tomorrow, I bet it will be:

    ----------Amerikwa-----------
    Alex--------Joya------Nyarko
    ------Big Red-----Pause------
    --Quote, unquote "Defense"--
    -----------Johnson------------

    or (Hopefully)

    ----------Amerikwa-----------
    Alex---Joya--Shipp---Nyarko
    -----------Big Red-------------
    --Quote, unquote "Defense"--
    -----------Johnson------------

PLEASE NOT THE 2 DEFENSIVE MIDFIELD FORMATION, I thought that formation left with Frank 1.0 to Montreal.

Yallop happily subbed in Pause last week. Hopefully, he learned his lesson.

God I hope so, because if he does we will be defending the whole game to try to get a 0-0 tie. We all know how that turned out for the last 15 minutes in the Chivas game.

If we try this Portland has plenty of offensive players to break us down and score on us. If Magee doesn't start, we have a ZERO chance of winning or getting a result, if Magee starts we have a 30-40% (IMO) chance of getting a result (1-1 tie).

Oh, by the way go FIRE and #HauptmanOut

I'd have Quincy in the midfield playing where Rolfe played last week. I'm not saying Anongono should start but I'm assuming Anongono will start regardless of his performance based on his contract similar to the MacDonald situation last year.

Agreed, I'm definitely not a believer in the returning starters except for Magee and Johnson. I'm looking more to 2015 and beyond.
