Two Man Utd youth players in car accident Very disturbing news. BBC states that two unnamed have been involved in a serious road accident before the reserve game against Birmingham City. One is being treated for "serious injuries". I immediately thought about Cooper and Spector. But whoever they are, let's hope this turns out alright. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/3397023.stm
Just found this in a Manchester newspaper. Still no names released: http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/s...terunited/stories/Detail_LinkStory=78235.html
I already posted this on United's board. New info at Red Cafe has an 18 year-old stuck under the wreck for a hour before being choppered to a hospital. http://www.redcafe.net/showthread.php?t=39220
Yes. The article has been updated. Perhaps the other one walked away. But it now gives the info about the helicopter flight to the hospital and lists his condition as "critical".
Thread from redcafe.net, but they know nothing more yet: http://www.redcafe.net/showthread.php?t=39220
SkySports reports on it: http://www.skysports.com/skysports/article/0,,7-1119253,00.html Still no names, however.
According to Redcafe thread it is Callum Flanagan and Phil Marsh. It appears that Phil Marsh is the player who was seriously injured.
I felt relieved that it was Specter or Cooper, then I felt bad that I was relieved. Get well soon boys. From Rednews (via redcafe)
I thought it had good chance of being a Yank, with the driveing of the otherside of the road and the otherside of the car Good luck to the injured but im very happy it was'nt one of our own
Damn, I feel the same guilt in just hoping it wasn't our two yanks. I am quite parochial at times. Prayers for the two injured players, especially the seriously injured one. Hopefully, it isn't as serious as it sounds.
Man Utd's website now listing his condition as "stable". Sounding better. http://www.manutd.com/news/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=51509&itype=466&icategoryid=123
I don't know about you guys, but the title of this thread in Yanks Abroad is pretty startling, since we obviously have youth at ManU. Maybe it could be altered or something to save some people the initial shock of assuming that our boys were involved. Quick recovery and prayers to the boys who were.
Good idea. When I initially posted this I was worried about Cooper and Spector, so I thought the YA forum would be best. Hope it wasn't too hysterical or alarmist. But relieved to see they were uninvolved. And it seems that the youngster who was injured is in much better shape than initially thought: http://www.manutd.com/news/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=51509&itype=466&icategoryid=123
