I just got the DVD for Vin Deisel's xXx this week, and watched it last night. Wow! I think it was one of the best action movies I've ever seen.
I thought it was great. I thought he made James Bond look like a girl. The avalanche scene alone was worth the price of the disk.
It just seemed like the directors were trying to hard to make the movie ultra cool and ultra hip, they kind of over did it. But I did like it more than this latest Bond, Die Another Day. They need more gratuitous nudity in movies like this though.
Of course they overdid it. That was the point! My wife was saying the same thing, until I just told her to relax and go with the flow. At the end she agreed it was one of the best action movies she ever saw. It was incredible, in both the sense of being unbelievable and being really good. I haven't seen that yet. I'll probably just wait for the DVD. I fixed that portion of your post. I did like the bedroom dance scene, a direct ripoff of True Lies.
