so i reinstalled xp on a clean partition and during the installation i noticed it was reading a bunch of files (most with mp3 extension) but i didn't think anything of it. turns out, it corrupted a majority of my mp3s. is there anyway to fix this? i'm pretty sure it's because both partitions were in a 200 gig and 250 gig hard drive.

Why re-install instead of system restore? Size of partition probably isn't the problem.

Was it the full version of XP, or the upgrade? The full version usually wipes everything out during the install on the partition you choose.
