    Well, he clearly didn't go Stateside for the money! He's on US$3,000 a week at the Galaxy. Roughly GB£1,500 which is a non-league wage, or what Scott Brown was on at Hibs before he went to Celtic!

    He was only on £3k at Boro after he returned. He phoned up a radio phone-in to say that he was the lowest payed professional player at the club and that if he left it would not be for money.

    Also said he turned down moves to the Middle East because hes not that sort of guy and that he wanted to have his say incase any stories came out he was being greedy.
