Does anyone else find it really pitiful that the only two jersey sponsors that MLS can find are the Multi Level Marketing scams Xango and Herbalife? People euphemistically refer to these as "sports drink" or "nutritional supplement" companies but they're really just MLM schemes that try to scam stupid people out of their money (do a quick Google search if you don't believe me.) What do you all think?
Corona, VW, Greenstar Recycling, Bank of Montreal, UnitedHealthcare, Bimbo, Alaska Airlines, Amway Global, Xbox, and Bell Canada are all MLM schemes? Wow!
Yeah, the inclusion of sketchy gambling websites as shirt sponsors really hurts the reputation of the Premier League, too.
I don't know why people are so up in arms over online gambling sponsors, I wish Garber would ease the gambling and hard liquor restrictions, it would make MLS look more mature.
What's your sudden fascination with Amway as a shirt sponsor? You've bumped at least 2 threads that are years old about it. The Quakes having them as a shirt sponsor isn't exactly news.
Ha ha. Exactly. If gambling sites and corrupt financial corporations are the BPL's thing, then why can't multi-level marketing be ours?
And the Quakes/Amway three year deal is now over. So, unless they decide to continue the sponsorship San Jose will either be getting a different sponsor for 2012, or will have none.
I don't really care what the sponsor is, and I don't think it reflects one way or the other on the club....except maybe RB, since the club itself is an extension of the sponsor. But i do enjoy when there seems to be some kind of synergy with the sponsor and club based on location or club identity. Seeing Xbox on a sounders shirt just works. Corona on a Chivas jersey works.
I went on Amazon to order some Xango and said WTF! $135 for 4 bottles; $42 for one bottle? I might pay that much for some chablis, but Xango?!?!... Someone in the know, please tell me, why the extraordinary price. I know it's a dietary supplement, but geez,... and they don't even say how many ounces it is. I still might order one just to see if it's justified.
It's not. They had samples at a game a couple years back, and that shit is ********ing terrible. I think they claim it has all sorts of health benefits or something, but it tastes like death.
You are supposed to drink it sparingly. I know this because a friend of mine somehow got his hands on a bottle and downed it. His bowels were all sorts of ********ed up for the next day or two. I have a relative who works there. He hates the stuff but has a family and can't really get out of the job that started as an internship then took a life of it's own. Bottom line: the stuff is disgusting and claims to do a whole lot more than what it actually does. Oh, and it's in Utah County, thus it is prime territory for a ponzie scheme.
