Though you may flog me for bringing up a women's soccer thread... I dont think it's out of the realm of possibility that should the Women's World Cup move from China to the US, as has been rumored, that we may see some games in Columbus given the short notice of the change, and the relative ability of our stadium's schedule to be more flexible then others.
I would expect Columbus, RFK and Home Depot to be three of the main venues if the WWC were in the U.S. this fall because they are not shared with NFL or college football (and they're not high school/junior college turf fields). That makes them very viable venues for that event.
Ummm... pardon me for interrupting a thread i usually don't post in but they probably will be doubleheaders, and i wouldn't be surprised if they give a nice boost to the crew's attendance this year, as good as it already will be.
I believe in '99, every WWC event was a doubleheader of two WWC games. There may have been MLS doubleheaders for the two semifinals (Boston and Stanford, I think), but all other games were not done with MLS.

For double headers, MLS splits the proceeds with USSF. Why would the Crew, who can draw well over 12k on their own, ever agree to do a double header in a 24K stadium? Wednesday nights - Nude.

Oh, okay. Yeah, I'm with you and I think he also should sit for four or five games. But I'm not advocating a ban for life either. It's just in these times I think our league needs to get a little backbone, especially with repeat offenders. It bothers me the way these challenges (Demo + Franchino on Martino) have been laughed off, and credited for their "bite."
