I've made my opinion about the CR Alves Batista known on the main WWC Referee Discussion thread so I won't repeat it all here. I'll just say she should do fine because the remaining teams aren't cynical, nasty and negative like China was. It still doesn't mean she deserves the honor of this assignment after how poorly she handled China in TWO matches in this World Cup.

Should have been a caution in 5’ on England.
    Reckless challenge against Morgan

In any game that isn't a knock out round World Cup match.

So I guess we CAN specify which teams are allowed to participate in a drop ball. ‍♂️

On the drop ball, I saw one given relatively deep in the attacking half in a gold cup match. The defense always seems to be pushed back more more than the 4m.

I wonder who will be the first to treat it like a IDFK and have a quick shot on goal.

As close to reckless the challenge was, I like that smack to the face being the first yellow. It seem to say, "I'll let you play with your feet, but the hands crap is not okay."

I wonder what happened on that last foul by Horan. I didn’t see anything from the camera angle but Scott came away with a mark under her eye.

And Horan should have had a YC in the first minute of the 2nd half.

Whoops, looks like they did give it.

Well I'm gonna assume someone else caught that one. It looked odd.

I’d say I’m surprised there wasn’t an easy caution for White preventing the US keeper from releasing the ball for a quick counter attack but I’m also not...

I really would like to have seen a caution on White there.

    Misses her shot
Runs out like a crazy woman
    Interferes with keeper release

She was pretty clearly making an effort to interfere.
