WUSA at it again - dissing the Beat in the standings and stats

    1) shouldn't ATL be in first with goal differential?

    2) league leaders excludes Scurry as goals against leader, save percentage leader, and winning percentage.

new faces, new kits, same ol' treatment from the league.

I just sent off a scathing email to woosa. It probably won't help any, but it made me feel better :D

You'd think they'd be nicer to the team that has one of the best attendance. *shrug*

*edit* Okay, maybe not, it just got bounced back to me :| Great 'contact us' page folks

    Given the results from Saturday:
    San Jose 1 Philadelphia 0
    San Diego 1 Boston 2
    Atlanta 5 New York 0
    Carolina 1 Washington 2

The standings on the WUSA site:
    WAS
    ATL
    BOS
    SJ
    SD
    PHI
    NY
    CAR

    Make absolutely no sense.

I would expect the WUSA to apply the tie breakers to the standings throughout the season so that, as the season gets deeper, playoff position and next game effects can be easier to deduce.

By the tie breakers (At least the first two or so) I believe the standings should be:
    1. ATL
    2. WAS & BOS tie
    4. SJ
    5. PHI
    6. CAR & SD tie
    8. NY

Clearly the WUSA has not applied the tie breakers to the standings yet and the order is determined by the PTH favorites acting to break ties.

This is the ONLY way I can explain Washington being first and NY not being dead last.

    Standings

I think I figured out the rankings (Not saying it's the right way)

The rankings are based on the time the games ended - Washington won first against Carolina at 2:00 EST, then Atlanta beat New York at 7:00 EST, and so on. That's why Washington's listed first.

Like I said, not saying it's right.

    Re: Standings

I'm not really bothered by the standings, its Bri getting shafted that has my feathers ruffled. And the fact I've tried to send complaints to 3 people and have all the messages bounced back. I've resorted to emailing Dan Courtmarche since he's the last one that has an email address that I can find. I'm still waiting to see if it gets bounced back to me. What was a simple asking a question email, it turned into quite a rant. oops.

They have shafted Beene as well (also with a shutout performance).

Standings have been fixed - ATLANTA on top :)

However, no Scurry (or Beene) in the other categories...and of course Mia takes PTW

...although I do think it was deserved ;)

My scathing email to them got a response pretty quickly. They are working with Elias Sports Bureau to get the individual stats stuff figured out and updated.

Good girl!! You are the epitome of a Beat fan! Scathing emails and a hot temper!! :D

If the Beat continue to play well... the WUSA better give them props when they are due. Atlanta is constantly slighted... POTW honors, end of season honors and even the highlight video they show at the awards banquet. At the end of season one we had the #1 defense with the lowest goals against %... however, the only time the WUSA chose to show the Beat in the video was when they were getting scored on... a huge slap in the face to our players (especially since we were regular season champs and going to the founder's cup)... I heard through the grapevine that a lot of the Beat players and staff were very upset. Lets hope the WUSA shows better judgement and shows some objectivity in this league.

We always suffer from the Rodney Dangerfield effect, huh? We always get no respect.

WAR BEAT! Though a 5-0 win over the Powerless really isn't all that impressive. Hey, anyone got a copy of the match that they can send me?

After week 2 we are still listed below WAS :(

and I think Scurry (and Beene) are still not listed in the "winning percentage" category.

It MUST be simple incompetence. It could not be the "Mia Bigots", could it?
