It only shows the Senior PGA Tour when I log on. I reloaded a few times, and there's still nothing there about WUSA.
PAX's WUSA subsection is still up though not updated for the 2003 season as of yet. I presume if/when PAX finalizes a timeslot and 2003 schedule for WUSA, there would be an update. (The URL is at the end of this posting.) FYI: It would be shocking if PAX actually places WUSA in a more prominent timeslot like Saturday 7 p.m. Such broadcasts there would likely lower the network's prime-time ratings. A Saturday 5 p.m. WUSA slot (as has been rumored) wouldn't be much better than 4 p.m. Though there would be an hour less conflict with MLS presuming that group's slot remains as is, the men's league would have an hour head start to lock in the soccer audience for the conflict hour. A Sunday afternoon slot would be the best realistic alternative available. There would be no conflict with national English-language MLS broadcasts and less conflict with youth soccer leagues. Of course, the fact that WUSA would still be airing on the incompatible PAX is a problem in and of itself but that's sadly beyond anyone's control for the moment. ---- www.pax.tv/sports/WUSA
I wondered the same thing. Does PAX even have a prime time? The only time I ever watched anything on PAX other than a WUSA game was when the local PAX station pre-empted a WUSA playoff game for local programming. As far as I can tell, there's not a whole lot on PAX besides infomercials and reruns of Bonanza. I sincerely hope WUSA doesn't go head-to-head with MLS again this year.
Here's a question I have asked myself for sometime..... Why not UPN? Honestly they are better known than PAX. Would 1hr a week of infomercial time be that much more expensive than PAX. I mean come on! UPN the home of crappy sci Fi that gets canceled after 3 weeks and Wrestling. Surely they have room for quality sports?
I would think that time on UPN would be substantially more expensive than time on PAX. UPN may have a low viewership, but you could hide from the Mob on PAX. UPN's year-to-date rating is a 2.4 with a 4 share. Which is last among the broadcast networks, but which has to be better than what PAX gets.
Check out the PAX Sports page now. Even the Senior PGA Tour is gone. PAX Sports was a blank page for a couple of days but now they've got an ad for the new fan magazine BONANZA GOLD. PAX is "Feel Good TV".
