espn2's schedule for april 5 has a wusa game at 2pm eastern. as soon as that game is finished at 4pm, mother station abc telecasts mls' opening game of the season.

espn2's 4pm telecasts of mls starts on april 19 i think, but their schedule for the rest of april (and of course for 2pm on saturday afternoons) doesn't seem to be available yet.

    what gives?

In the discussion of this over at the WUSA board, the consensus seems to be that this is a one-off, perhaps to test the viability of weekly broadcasts in the future, or to promote the WWC later in the year.

Or maybe it's because it's a Founders' Cup II rematch.

Still, a WUSA broadcast on the mouse family has to be good news for the league.

WAIT a second, partner. Business & Media house rules say that ESPN is screwing soccer in America. You want to rethink that there post? ;)

Whoops...my apologies for that breach of etiquitte. I'm new to BS (not even three weeks) and still learning the ropes. Please forgive me. It won't happen again.

    What I meant was:

ESPN sucks. I'd sooner have PAX drop the WUSA broadcasts and have nobody pick it up before the games were shown on such a blatantly soccer-hating institution like the Walt Disney Co. family of networks.

    How's that? ;)

    Well played, newbie.

  7. Good point, but at least ESPN and ESPN reach a bigger audience than PAX. That's one slight advantage.

I'm not really sure how to respond to that.
