I called today to sign up and it isnt even offered. It has probably been discussed at some point on the this board, but does anyone know how I can get these games on my TV without buying a dish???? The rep on the phone hadnt even heard of the MLS.. He said "Where is the league in Spain?" <head explodes>
After checking the media guide like the guy on the phone told me too, and seeing that it should be available, I called back. Luckily the guy I got on the phone was more competent than the first and explained that the reason the systems are having a problem pulling it up and subcribing your account to it, is that their will be a "free promotion" this saturday showing 3 games... for some reason, the "promotion" throws a glitch into their systems.. The result is if you get an ignorant rep on teh phone, the channel "wont exist.." Once this ends, the systems can add it to your account, and you can subscribe..... in case any of you cared or were having the same problem I was having... carry on..
I have tried with Cablevision. So far it is not being offered there. I hope you're right about the free offer promotion. It would be a shame for the package not to be offered.
I wouldnt count on it w/cablevision.. Give them a call, but Time Warner seems to be have more options. I got it specifically for FSW and access to the MLS package.
I get DK on D* but I also have CV and just checked and in the 430s my guide shows "NBA/MLS packages". As clueless as CV is I'd be surprised if they weren't offering it. There seems to be a great deal of inertia borne of incompetence in Woodbury and once they've offered the MLS package and have it in their systems it would probably be more difficult for them to take it out than simply continue to sell it. So I'd keep checking until I got a competent rep. But of course you already knew the above; just trying to lend support. Good Luck. =NLK=
Cablevision does have the codes in the system!!! Good news for Cablevision Io subscribers. MLS Direct Kick is now finally in the system (for $69) and can be ordered. Apparently it went into the system yesterday, but most of the customers service reps don't know it yet. Ask them to go through the list of all the sports packages, and they'll find it under MLS!! One thing, as I ordered it today, Cablevision is now charging an additional $1.95 one-time charge to "upgrage" the service. It seems to be a bit of a stretch that they need to charge this extra fee, but in the end for $71 bucks it's still a great deal. George
Re: Cablevision does have the codes in the system!!! You are probably one of the guys complaining that the BS premium memebrship is "too expensive." Gee, that whole 1.95 comes out to about .04 a game..
As I said, I paid the extra two bucks, for $71 it's still a great deal. I was just surprised, because they didn't charge that fee last year. George
