As soon as OZ did that I knew we had lost, he killed any chance of a counter attack.

Fire OZ right now! Before the New England game.

It might give the players the boost they need. Let the assistant coach take the NE game and the playoffs (if we make it).

We can then get a new coach in the offseason.

The only thing that needs to be missing from the club next season in OZ. he has made the worst decisions on who to play and when to sub I have ever seen. He starts all three forwards and leave williams on the bench, our best mid fielder. Then after mathis get red carded he takes out faria, the only one that is actually play good, and puts in chronopolis. Fine. Then Diallo. I can't believe that. we had no offense and no way to threaten so their D would stay in the back. Now we might as be playing 8 on 11. 10 on 11 only helps the other team if the defense pushes forward. So take out all the offensive players and they are free to push forward. I can't believe he did that. Now not only do we not have mathis and loose the game, but now we don't have howard in goal next game, a must win to make the play-offs. We aren't going to the play-offs.

I totally agree with you. If you are going to play counter-attacking soccer Diallo is not the right striker for it, Faria is!!!

Then Oz takes out Diallo for Lisi!!!!

I hope the metrostars don't make the playoffs( not really) so there is no doubt the Oz MUST BE FIRED!!!!!!!

    What was Timmy H thinking???

We are in deep Shite next week.

Yes OZ has to go and hopefully there is some dumb european team that will be foolish enough to take Mathis. His performance and antics this year have been awful. I dont care what his name is.

I don't know either, but right about now I'd like to share with him my thoughts by asking him to voluntarily resign his position effective immediately.

Don't say we don't want to go to the play-oofs. Let's make it to the play-offs so our team won't be completely changed; we have a good team, and the game we lose in the play-offs it will be the fault of some stupid OZ tactic yet again. THat is how we can get him fired, still helping the metros in the best way. Let's all start a petition to get him off!

I agree, I think all the player are frustrated too. Oz has to go. He stands there for all the games and does nothing. (does he honestly think he is there for a fashion show in those suits??) Nothing when a player is carded, nothing when they score, nothing, just nothing....that is what he is good for nothing. Him and his little group of favorites must go. Maybe if he supported his players a little they would not be at each others throats.

Okay, I didn't get to watch tonight's game so, I'm relying on what is being said here.

Ever notice that if an opponent of ours needs to win, the ref usually calls everything against us?

I mean, remember the 2000 season? Chicago could do whatever they wanted and get away with it. Game 3 of the playoffs, we had 2 goals called back (1 goal, 1 PK). Plus a lot more during the regular season, like the red card to Ramos.

Two years later, we have a 10 team league, with the East only having two playoff teams. So, in conclusion, I think MLS had something to do with the last two Metros/D.C. game. United had no chance of getting in the playoffs, now they're one game away. MLSnet.com never mentions that Mathis was tackled from BEHIND before kicking "Chino".

    Ironic isn't it?

  12. It's cute to make that observation and so easy -- that's what makes it such a worthless observation. Stott was a disaster tonight. He deserves a failing assessment and to be sent down to Division 3 to work his way back up.

However, make no mistake. In spite of Stott's incompetence, the Metro still lost this one on their own -- start with OZ. He shouldn't be on the touchline against NE. Why pretend we have coaching leadership? We have anarchy at the moment, so let anarchy prevail without OZ next week. Could it get worse? I don't think so.

OZ is absolutely retarded and Mathis became a major punk this year as visions of Pele started dancing in his head. Now I understand why Bruce didn't want to risk playing Mathis too much.

Metros don't deserve getting into the playoff and I don't believe they will anyway as the Revulsion are going to beat them.

Another friggin joke of a year!!!

That game was so disgraceful. I wanted to cry.
Okay, the thing with Clint was bad luck. (I'm not exactly sure what happened- I tuned in late; I had to go to church.) I came in right when the red card was issued, and I only saw him apologizing.
Every time they showed OZ, I felt like punching him.
Heh. Maybe Clint'll punch him. It's not like OZ can take him off the starting line-up for the next game.
I think a coach should at least yell at his team if he's angry with them, not scowl every five seconds.
A good coach definately does not put the blame on the players. If he can't control them, OZ has got to look himself in the mirror, and tell himself that it's all his fault.

don't you get it, OZ doesn't think that its his fault. If he did then maybe he would correct the problem. Maybe he should look at the tapes of the games we won and the ones we lost. He should look at who he played and how they played. He continues to blow subs and he continues to put the wrong players into the starting line-up. He is trying different starting line-ups and we have one game left. Too little too late. He has to go. We have too much talent to loose this many games. I know why we loose I just can't understand it.

Ghost, I mentioned that because I didn't watch the game and I don't have MSG, so Bigsoccer is my only source of some real info. But, yeah, this team shouldn't depend on a ref to determine the result. If thats how they want to play, then whats the point of playing?

This team should be making an easy run to the championship and winning it. But we aren't because OZ can't tell the difference between Pele and Byron Alvarez, and the players don't really care whether or not they win, since some think that because they had one good season, they don't have to work hard any more(Petke, Mathis, Diallo).

You mean the assistant coach who left Mathis off the lineup sheet after the World Cup? If there was ever a need for a top-down cleaning out of an organization, this one is textbook.

But hey, at least we can all enjoy our Metro Playoff Fever! Even though it's less and less likely we'll even get to the playoffs or, come to think of it, that the front office has the two brain cells to rub together to tell fans where they're playing.
